We're installing air source heat pumps on our Thistledowns development in Macclesfield!

Air source heat pumps are a type of low-carbon, energy system that absorb warmth from the outside air and use it to heat your home…even when temperatures are below freezing!

So, how do they work?

👉🏻 Draw in warmth from outside air, over a network of tubes filled with a type of refrigerant liquid.
👉🏻 As it warms, this liquid evaporates and turns into a gas.
👉🏻 The hot gas passes through a heat exchanger, transferring the heat to water, for use in your home’s heating system.
👉🏻 Once the gas has transferred its heat, it cools down, returns to a liquid state and the cycle begins again!

Air source heat pumps are generally up to 3 times more efficient than traditional gas boilers. They’re much better for the environment; cutting CO2 emissions and improving air quality.
