Pleased to host the Greater Manchester Residents Meeting for residents caught up in the on-going building safety crisis this evening along with Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester Kate Green, supported by Jenni & Carlos Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), Helen, Homes England and Giles & Rebecca Manchester Cladiators.

Thank you to all residents that attended & helped inform Greater Manchester’s work to produce an Accelerated Remediation Plan, which has been requested by Deputy Prime Minister
Angela Rayner & Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. We really appreciate you giving up your time to input into this important work.

Thank you Lucy Powell MP and Rushanara Ali and all who joined today's visit including stakeholders from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) and Manchester City Council.

Thank you especially to Ruth from the Linx for sharing her lived experience of the range of issues faced over the years just so she and her neighbours can have a safe home.

We remain hopeful that we will see meaningful change and an end to this scandal quickly.

📣 Crowd Justice Fundraiser 📣

We have launched a CrowdJustice fundraiser to look at potential challenges to Government’s failure to protect us properly from costs to fix safety defects we played no part in causing.

Michael Gove may have recently said that he’s reviewing the approach but until we see action we must keep holding Government to account.

We are more than 4 years on from Grenfell and the end is nowhere in sight. We need action and accountability.

This prospective action follows months of discussions with Irwin Mitchell & is in conjunction with our End Our Cladding Scandal partners to look at test cases that may benefit us all.

Our heartfelt thanks to Georgie, Darren and Beth for their support and agreeing to be ‘test case studies’ for this work 💛

Tonight we turn back the clock 1 hour but our residents wish they could turn back the clock to a time before they bought their homes which are dangerous & could bankrupt them.

Michael Gove, Rishi Sunak and Boris Johnson please do the right thing & help turn back the clock for these residents. You have to end the Building Safety Crisis before it ruins any more lives 😔.
