Staff at Forever Green and Ransom Wood have been baking for a good cause today 💚

We held our Macmillan Coffee Morning and just wanted to say a genuine thank you to everyone who came along, bought a slice, made a donation or helped in any way.

So far we’ve raised £172.32 at Forever Green, with a little more still to be counted.

Thank you as well to everyone who baked or brought something in, including Maisie, Connor, Jacqui, Terri, Simon, Pete, Tony, Emily and Alison.

A really simple morning, but a lovely one — and all for a cause that means a lot to so many people.

Thank you for supporting it. 💚

Autumn at Ransom Wood 🍎🍂

The apples and hawthorn berries are looking beautiful right now — and they’re an important food source for local wildlife too.

Please enjoy them, but leave them on the trees. 💚

Massive thanks to the volunteers from Everyturn Mental Health, who spent the day out in the woodland at Ransom Wood this week! 🌿

They built a dead hedge from branches and natural material found around the site — a brilliant, low-tech way to put woodland waste to good use while giving insects, birds and small mammals somewhere to shelter.
Great to see one of our own tenants rolling their sleeves up and giving back to the park in this way.

Everyturn Mental Health delivers mental health and wellbeing services across the country on behalf of the NHS and local authorities — always putting people and communities first.

Big thank you to everyone who took part. The hedge looks great, and it'll keep doing its job for the local wildlife long after today.

After an incredible 46 years, it’s time to say a very fond farewell to Robert Minchin as he begins his well-earned retirement. 💚

Robert has been part of Ransom Wood for so long that it’s difficult to imagine the place without him. Over the years, he’s helped, supported and worked alongside so many people — both here at Ransom Wood and much further afield — and we know there are plenty of people who will have their own memories of working with him.

We’d like to say a huge thank you, Robert, for everything you’ve given to the company over the last 46 years. Your knowledge, humour and willingness to help will be very much missed by all of us.

As Robert knows so many people from his years working around the world, we’d love to hear from you too. If you’ve worked with Robert over the years, leave him a message, memory or retirement wish in the comments below. We’ll make sure he sees them. 💬

Happy retirement, Robert — and thank you for 46 remarkable years.

You might need to look twice to spot this little moth. The Small Phoenix is well camouflaged against woodland surroundings and is one of the moth species that has actually been recorded here at Ransom Wood during previous moth surveys.

Early September is also the right time to look out for them — Small Phoenix moths have a second flight period during August and September. They’re fairly common in England and Wales and are associated with woodland and other open habitats.

Built to make the most of its woodland setting, The Willows features wall-to-wall windows, a striking galleried entrance and an A+ net-zero EPC rating.

It’s a good example of what In Business with Nature actually looks like — a modern workplace that still feels very much part of Ransom Wood’s surroundings.

Ever wondered about the clock at Ransom Hall? 🕰️
Turns out it has quite a story.

The clock was presented to the hospital by the mine workers’ union on 1 May 1947, around the time Ransom Hall was rebuilt into the building we recognise today.

Before the offices, meetings and day-to-day life we know now, this was part of a hospital site dating all the way back to 1902.

Quite a bit of history hiding above reception! 🌿
