These are my parents.
They’re both in their 80’s, been married for 60 years, and had a great life together.
They’ve been retired for over 24 years, happily living in a retirement bungalow in an over-55’s community.
They have a good pension and other investments that enabled them both to retire before 60. These investments, with their pension should have been more than sufficient to see them into this final season of their lives.
Factors that have impacted some of this provision are:
*High inflation that’s not been matched in pension payments
*Some investments not performing as desired, providing less return, coupled with the impact of inflation once again
*The need to relocate to another, more expensive city to be closer to family and receive the relevant care their needs now dictate
You may think you are set with the future plans you have – but looking at these factors that are impacting those closest to me, I’ve realised that our wealth plan and retirement provision has to be much more strategic, to provide for unforeseen economic, social, practical and personal circumstances.
Our speaker at our inaugural SSAS Summit Network event, on Wednesday evening, 3 July 2024 in Sheffield, will be speaking about wealth planning and retirement provision, following his own life changing experience in 2016. welsh will share more about how you can take control of your future with a SSAS pension and the possibilities of future, legacy and retirement planning leveraging a SSAS pension.
We’d love for you to join us. Early bird tickets have all sold out now, but general admission is still available. Link to more information and tickets are in the comments.
