The Shearing is done — and we’ve got bags of the good stuff! 🦙✂️

Our lovely herd of alpacas had their annual shearing last week and they are officially summer-ready, lighter, and considerably less fluffy than they were seven days ago. 😄

But here’s the exciting part — all that gorgeous alpaca fleece has to go somewhere, and we’d love it to go to someone who’ll put it to good use! 🌿

Alpaca wool is genuinely special stuff — it’s incredibly soft, naturally hypoallergenic, warmer than sheep’s wool, and completely sustainable.

It can be used for:
🧶 Knitting and crocheting
🎨 Felting and craft projects
🌱 Garden mulching — brilliant for keeping weeds down
🐔 Chicken nesting boxes — they absolutely love it
✂️ Spinning your own yarn
🏡 Insulation

Happy 5th Birthday Maple! 🎂🦙✨

On 25th May we’re celebrating one of our most beloved members of the Owslow Farm family — and five years in, Maple is absolutely in his prime. 😄

Maple has been with us since January 2023 and in that time he’s become one of the most important members of our herd — and here’s why.

If you’ve ever been a little nervous around animals but still wanted to try an alpaca walking experience, there’s a very good chance Maple was your guy.

He has this incredibly calm, gentle energy that just puts people at ease immediately.

He seems to know — and he’s never once let anyone down. ❤️

When he’s not out on the trails working his magic, you’ll find him at his usual spot at the end of the shed every morning, having breakfast with his best pal Harry.

Creatures of habit, the pair of them. ☕

He’s one of our tallest alpacas, he loves a trek, and he takes his daily vitamin D like an absolute champion — no fuss, no drama, mouth open, done and wanting more.😂

Happy 2nd Birthday Bailey! 🎂🦙✨

Today, we’re celebrating our gorgeous, creamy-fleeced boy.

Bailey arrived at Owslow Farm on 18th April 2025 alongside his half brother Pepper and their pal Benson.

He’s settled in exactly the way you’d expect from a boy who knows his own mind.

He’s found his people — namely Pepper and Benson — and he’s perfectly happy keeping it that way.

Loyal, reserved, and quietly content.
We completely respect that. 😊

That stunning creamy fleece of his is absolutely beautiful — and freshly shorn and ready for summer too, which we think he’s secretly rather pleased about. ☀️

He might not be the loudest personality on the farm but Bailey has a quiet charm that creeps up on you — and before you know it he’s completely stolen your heart. 🤍

Happy Birthday beautiful boy. We’re so glad you found your way to us. 🦙

Meet Marmaduke 🦙💛

He joined us on my birthday (17th March!) at just 7 months old, and he’s been stealing hearts ever since. 💕

Such a chilled little character who just loves being around his friends.

He did arrive with Jet… but let’s just say Jet had other ideas once they met the herd 😅

So Marmaduke found his perfect match with lil’ Ernie instead — and he’s been much happier ever since.

Marmaduke has already been out on a few treks, and he’s a firm favourite with the hen parties… I mean, just look at that face 😍

The Guided Walk — Our signature 75-minute trek across the farm with your very own alpaca companion and views of the Peak District that’ll stop you in your tracks. The full experience, and an absolutely brilliant one at that. 🥾

Private Sessions — Want to make it extra special? Private sessions are perfect for birthdays, celebrations, or just treating the family to something a little bit magical. Your own time, your own pace, your own memories. 🎂

Meet & Feed — Not up for the full walk but still desperate to meet them? Our non-walking sessions are mainly for large groups only. They let you get up close, feed them, and spend proper time with the alpacas without the trek. Perfect for little ones or anyone who just wants the fluffy fix. 🐾
