To all the Croft Cottage guests who have stayed in the cottage over so many years - After postponing the decision over the Covid years, I have now finalised the arrangements for a change from short-lets to a long-let from mid-November. I would like to thank you all for your custom and wish you well. Feel free to drop in for a cup of coffee or tea if you happen to be in the area! With love and best wishes, Saskia

I've just changed the Cover photo, above. No, it's not Croft Cottage! It is one of the many limestone barns that are so characteristic in the White Peak landscape. This one is just a 10 minute walk outside Parwich along Monsdale Lane.
There is still some availability in September. Send me an email with your preferred nights (3 nights minimum, please) and I will confirm the cost.

After a period of silence, I like to bring you an update about Croft Cottage. I have been scaling back a little on the number of bookings that I am taking until the end of the year 2023. A few of my ‘old’ advertising platforms have ceased to trade as a result of the challenging Covid years. I am still advertising on HolidayLettings/Tripadvisor – please visit https://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/parwich/6786926 . You can find availability & a photo gallery here, as well as the tariff for your chosen period. I am happy to be flexible with change-over days and the number of days for your holiday break, but with a minimum of 3 nights, please.
You have the choice to book through the HolLet website, where the tariff includes their 14.5% booking fee or you can book directly with me at [email protected] at a reduced tariff. Just contact me to confirm availability and price for your chosen period.

Croft Cottage has been very busy with visitors since the relaxation of Covid restrictions in mid-April. In fact, the cottage is now fully booked until early December.
For availability and further information, please visit - https://theholidaycottages.co.uk/derbyshire/6666

With the help of my local cleaning lady, we do our best to clean the cottage thoroughly within the limitation of the change-over time.

The good weather has helped visitors to explore the village and wider area, leaving some lovely comments in the Visitor book: (2021) “Gorgeous cottage, gorgeous views, & loved the wood-burner!”; “Cosy cottage, wonderful countryside. Thank you for help with ancestry research – it was the icing on the cake”; “Lovely cosy cottage, beautiful location, ideal to explore the area. We had a great time”; “Croft Cottage and Parwich is a little bit of heaven found in the Derbyshire Dales. Loved every minute of every day - didn’t want to go home”.

During the past week, a small team of tree-surgeons has been busy taking down some of the Ash trees at the top of the field behind the cottage. It’s always sad when trees are taken down, but the consequences of Chalara fraxinea, the Ash die-back disease, were starting to affect the Ash trees. Some self-seeded saplings of different tree species are already established and with some additional tree planting in the gaps, I’m hopeful that the green ‘corridor’ will soon become quite dense again.

It's been a long and tough year, with both positive and negative experiences. It's mid-February (2021, I think...) when I am writing this and we're still very much in Lockdown 3.
If you are interested in making a provisional booking for the cottage for later this year, then please contact me to discuss.
See Contact details elsewhere on this page.
Take care and all the best,
Saskia
