Most of our work is repeat business from reputable clients we have longstanding and strong working relationships with or new clients that come to us on recommendation.

In all honesty, we don't need to advertise or market our services but the kind offer of some advertising space at Ashby Rugby Club was too good to miss and gratefully accepted.

We're now looking forward to the season to start so we can enjoy a few beers and a good game of Rugby.

It feels like an age since I posted something for you to peruse over. Truth is, our good reputation precedes us and as always we're flat out busy.

Our current portfolio covers everything from small domestic to large scale healthcare and commercial projects, and everything in between. Some of these projects I could share with you and some I can't.

The project I am sharing with you today has been a labour of love for our client. As you can imagine, trying to create a new micro-pub during a pandemic has had it's challenges, but our client has done it and if i might say so, has knocked it right out of the park!

The attention to detail within The Rock brilliant. It's worth a visit, if for nothing else than a nose around and a coffee. The bar oozes character inside and out. and it's the exterior artwork I want to share with you.

The artwork reflects the proud heritage we have for our mining and quarrying in the Coalville area but more importantly than that, is the Star Wars reference. What many of you wont know is that all the early Star Wars toys were made in Coalville, by a company called Palitoy.

Virtually everyone of a certain age from the Coalville area will have a parent, grand parent aunt or uncle who worked at Palitoy. and that meant a lot to us children. Because for a time, we were the envy of the world. Almost every Boy (and some girls) in the Coalville area had some or most of the entire Star Wars toy collection made by Palitoy. Christmas' and birthdays were awash with Star Wars figures, Vehicles and playsets.

The artwork on the wall makes reference to our Star Wars past, and it has a Death Star! It's brilliant and to me, that makes it a damn cool pub!

Wise words from LFRS.

And the same goes for Fire Extinguishers and those grey rubber wedges from IKEA. Don't use them to prop fire doors open.

🚪Fire doors can only offer protection if they are closed. If fire doors haven't been used for a while due to lockdown, check they can still open/close easily. Make sure access and routes to doors are unobstructed.

The Midlands office provides Building Control services for a broad mixture of commercial, healthcare, education and domestic projects across England and Wales and has an inspection area that covers the whole Midlands area, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The position is based within our Melbourne office, though an amount of home working is also possible.

Applicants should have the following;
- Full CABE, CIOB or RICS membership or working towards full membership
- Ideally have an excellent working knowledge of the Building Regulations, associated legislation and technical standards
- Ability to build good working relationships and have commercial awareness
- Full, clean driving licence

We recently carried the final inspection on the new Science Block at Cedars Academy, Birstall, Leicestershire. Our client, Interserve Construction Ltd should be proud, they've done a cracking job. And doesn't it look good in the sunshine?
