Due to summer expansion we are now looking for an....

Office administrator/Negotiator (full time employed).

Could you be the friendly face of Whitfields? Can you br different from other estate agents? You'll need to be:

Super organised
Self motivated
Have a brilliant customer focus
Tech savvy /IT skills
Social media/editing skills
A team player
Friendly and chatty
Dog friendly

Experience in property sales, new build or letting preferred. Some viewings may become essential so a car is important.

Most important you need a genuine passion for property and providing the best client experience.

The role is based in Corsham but also you may spend time at our Melksham office too. Monday to Friday with 1 in 4 Saturdays (day off in lieu).

The biggest mistake I see sellers make in any market? 🙈

Believing or insisting on a high asking price. (NOT helped by agents trying to win you over with a high price).

It might feel like a good idea at first… but if the strategy is wrong from day one, the property often ends up sitting on the market for months, going stale, chasing price reductions, and ultimately attracting less interest from buyers.

We are in a buyer’s market right now. Buyers are educated, they are watching the portals daily, and they know when a property is overpriced.

The reality is this:

The longer a property sits on the market:
• the fewer enquiries it gets
• the weaker the buyer perception becomes
• the more negotiable it often becomes.
• Buyers start wondering what's wrong with it.

And in many cases, sellers end up achieving LESS than they would have if the property had been launched at the right price with the right marketing strategy from the very beginning.

Pricing is part of the marketing strategy, not the only thing you should focus on.

It’s about positioning a property strategically to create momentum, competition, and the best possible outcome.

This is a good news for Melksham! You'd be surprised at the range of shops and cafes in town.

Check out the 2 excellent butchers, W J Beaven and Newmans (excellent sausage rolls), florists, Boots the chemist (unlike Corsham) and Gompels. Loads more from clothes shopping , jewellery, quirky homewares to Poundstretcher.

Don't forget the cafes and pubs. One of my faves has to be The Hiding Place Micropub.

There is so much more to Melksham. And you are welcome to pop in and see us at Shurnhold. Grab a bunch of gorgeous flowers from the wheelbarrow on the road by Shurnhold Flowers.

🅿️ Two hours FREE parking in Church Street Car Park!

To reduce the financial barrier of parking, improve the accessibility of our town and make short spontaneous trips more appealing, Melksham Town Council are offering visitors two hours FREE parking in Church Street Car Park.

How to take advantage of the scheme:

🚗 Park in Church Street Car Park and purchase a ticket.

🛍️ Present valid proof of an active parking ticket to a participating business: D&M Gompels Pharmacy or Wiltshire Framing. You DON’T need to purchase anything in these businesses to redeem your parking.

Accepted evidence includes a photo of the physical ticket or confirmation via the MiPermit app.

🎟️ The cost of up to two hours of parking will then be reimbursed to you directly.

💷 Businesses may then reclaim the charges from Melksham Town Council.
