The combine may have stopped, due to the weather, but the team still have plenty to do from karting grain to spreading muck or as you can see here Asia has been busy moving the bales from the field into the shed…

Harvest 2026 is coming along nicely & our harvest student, Asia, (who is farm a dairy farmer) is getting rather good at the tractor work & unloading of the trailers…

Up above our 5 converted farm steading cottages, called Holiday Cottages Melrose, at the new farm steading our boss, Cameron is always busy at this time of year making sure the grain is at the correct moisture level for onward use.
A few weeks ago, at the start of harvest, I asked the team to share all the harvest activities with me & we hope you enjoy this short video of Cameron talking us through the drying process; because even on a sunny year like this, the moisture content is too high & the grain still needs dried to bring the moisture level down to the correct range for onward use!

Yippee 🥳 harvest 🌾 2026 is underway & the first is Located just a few minutes down the road from our 5 stunning Holiday Cottages (Holiday Cottages Melrose) so not only do the guests get enjoy the stunning views & fantastic 🌞 weather at this time of year but they also get some gentle background noise & entertainment from the combine & they love it 🥰

We have decided to sell our Equitrek ,Sonic 5 seat 4.5tonne, Peugeot HDI engine 2-stall horsebox. It has:

- Mot to March 2027
- mileage of 95k.
- 5 seats, the back seat / bench converts into bunk beds,
- 2 large lockers and rear tack area plus
