As you can see from the numbers to the right on the Ilkley Carnival volunteers signup page, many roles are still to be filled.

All volunteer hours are assigned to that person's chosen group or charity - this is how the profits are distributed. Some groups earn £500-1500 each year!

The carnival are still particularly short of volunteers for the final set-up in the morning (various roles and times available), volunteers to ensure the parade runs safely and the clear down from 5pm ish.

Without more offers of help the carnival will still go ahead, but the small committee just won't get home until most people reading this have gone to bed 😴
