Sashes

Although, to anyone who has stayed at Sashes she may not look any different, over January and February she has undergone extensive work on her roof which, we hope, will no longer leak or cause issues. Much of the interior has been re-decorated, carpets professionally steam cleaned and new garden furniture added (although admittedly a bit snug on the terrace!).
Some stuff still to do, but that will happen in the future.
It's not a perfect property - something from the 1700's can't be. It's a bit quirky, it has damp in it's old walls, it's steps (inside and out) and vertiginous top garden won't suit everyone but she is very comfortable, bigger than appears from the outside and very well situated between the town and the harbour.
We hope anyone staying there this year (or next, etc...) will enjoy their time there.

When we left, this roof section was half tiled so not far off completion now, ready for guests in March. They have been doing a fantastic job and a really nice team of people. It's taken a lot longer than we hoped due to a hiatus of work from March, but we have finally had all the hard landscaping done to the top section of garden, which we know has been looking shabby this year. Now this is done, we will be able to start planting and then employ a gardener to maintain it for our guests. We may need to tweak some aspects of the new seating area - possibly a guard rail will be added, but due to it's location only those with a head for heights will tackle it! Good views from here though and now somewhere to enjoy them with a cup of tea or coffee.
