Following our recent community evening, we’ve had lots of questions, comments and messages from people.

We thought it would be helpful to bring together some of the questions we’ve been asked most often, along with a few clarifications, so everyone has the same information.

We know Hen Dŷ Bad Achub Moelfre means a great deal to many people, and we really appreciate everyone who has taken the time to share their thoughts, ideas and feedback with us.

Following our recent community evening, we just wanted to say thank you again to everyone who came along and took the time to share their thoughts.

Since the event, we’ve been bringing together the questions, comments and suggestions raised on the evening, along with the feedback we’ve received on social media.

Rather than replying to individual comments, we’d like to take the time to review all of the feedback together. Once we’ve had the chance to do that, we’ll share a response to the main questions, comments and suggestions that have been raised.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this evening to hear more about our vision for the future of Hen Dŷ Bad Achub Moelfre (Moelfre Old Lifeboat House).

The purpose of the evening was to share the work that has taken place so far, explain our current vision for the future of the boathouse and open a conversation with the community about its future.

Our vision is to carefully restore and sensitively adapt the historic boathouse, creating a year round holiday let within the existing building. Our aim is to respect the character and history of this special place whilst helping to secure its long term future.

We know how deeply people care about the boathouse, and we appreciate everyone who has shared their memories, thoughts and views on its future. We recognise that there are different perspectives on the best way to protect this special place, and we value every conversation.

Thank you again to everyone who came along and took the time to share your thoughts. We value every opinion and genuinely welcome the views, ideas and feedback of the community as we continue these conversations about the future of this much loved building.

The repair works to the boathouse and slipway are now complete, and everything is back to normal.

Community Update Evening 💙

We’d love you to join us.

Over the past few months, there’s been a lot happening at the boathouse, and we would like to invite the local community to an informal evening where we will share an update on the work that’s been taking place.

We will also be talking about our vision for the future and sharing our ideas for the next chapter of the boathouse.

We know the boathouse holds a special place in the hearts of so many people, and we’d love for you to join us as we share an update on its restoration and look ahead to the future.

The sunshine has certainly made an appearance this week, and so has plenty of progress at the boathouse! ☀️

The team have continued making great progress repairing and repointing the slipway, carefully working around the tide times to make the most of every opportunity. When the tide comes in, attention turns back to repointing the boathouse, keeping the work moving throughout the day.

It’s been another busy week at the boathouse...

Our main focus has been repairing and repointing the slipway, with the team making the most of the tide times to keep the work moving. When the tide comes in, they’ve been turning their attention to repointing the boathouse.

We’re currently carrying out essential repairs to the slipway as part of ongoing work to help preserve the site for the future.

We’re sorry for any temporary inconvenience while these works are underway, and we really appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this time.

This is important work to ensure the slipway is properly maintained and does not deteriorate further over time. The works are expected to be completed by the end of June, with the area restored as it was.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support, we’re always open to constructive feedback and are doing our best to minimise any disruption while the work takes place ❤️

You may have seen us on site over the past week carrying out some prep work.

This week, we’ll be undertaking essential repairs to the slipway and external walls to help preserve the site for years to come.

For safety reasons, the area will be closed whilst these works are underway, and we kindly ask visitors to avoid popping by during this time.

Thank you for bearing with us whilst the work is carried out. We know how much this place means to so many people, and we’ll reopen access as soon as it’s safe to do so.

You may have seen us on site recently, we’ve been carrying out some essential repairs to the slipway using sympathetic conservation materials and techniques.

We’ve also been clearing back some of the brambles around the property to help tidy things up and allow better access.

As always, thank you for all the support and interest. We will keep you updated as things progress.
