To celebrate our 200th issue (out today) We’re asking our amazing community to help us buy 200 essential items for local residents devastated by Storm Claudia.

📢 MONMOUTH FLOOD SUPPORT – PLEASE SHARE

If you’ve been affected by the recent floods – whether you’re a resident or a business – please don’t hesitate to come and get the help you need. There is absolutely no need to be shy. We’re overflowing with donations and support teams who are ready and waiting for you.

📍 Shire Hall Humanitarian Site

🕘 Open every day 9am – 5pm

Shire Hall is fully stocked with cleaning supplies, equipment, and essentials thanks to the incredible generosity of our community. Please come along and take whatever you need – that’s exactly what it’s there for.

On site you’ll find teams offering:

• Housing support
• Environmental health advice
• Wellbeing support
• Help with flood-related issues for both homes and businesses
• Assistance with grant applications (Red Cross, Monmouthshire County Council & Town Council all on-site)

You’ll also find people ready to chat, listen, and help however they can. No appointment needed – just pop in.

EXTRA SUPPORT AVAILABLE

A huge donation has arrived this afternoon, and storage is filling up fast. Please come and collect supplies or let us know if you need them delivered.

🚗 Delivery help:

Jen and Dave Teague (based at the Clothes Station, ex-Methodist Church) are happy to pick up and deliver items tomorrow to those most in need.

We also have volunteers eager to help businesses and households affected – so please reach out.

Let us help you and get you in the system. What do you need and where are you? Independent Business or resident? Are you insured or not? We're still receiving requests for aid and can either help straight away or refer you to the right agency and follow you through.
💪 VOLUNTEER
Be on the centralised list and ready to be deployed where needed. Please include your availability over the coming week and your phone number – this really helps save us coming back to you! What can you help with?
📦 DONATE LARGE ITEMS
We're managing large household items and electricals and urgently need: Fridge Freezers, Washing Machines, Tumble Dryers, Sofas, Curtains, and Kitchen Electrics.
We are working with lots of local independent businesses and people offering a variety of aid – let's keep this local and together.
⚡ SAFETY FIRST
PAT tests are being carried out (free of charge from independent local businesses!) on all electricals prior to redistribution, making sure donations are safe, checked and fit for purpose.
🚐 DRIVERS WITH VANS AND CAPACITY NEEDED
We need more drivers with vans and capacity to transport items to and from our storage units (donated by local independent businesses!).
