Family ♥️

There are so many families that include four legged members. And at KIH Estates we support families who face barriers to finding a home that includes the full family.

Legislation is underway to remove the barriers that exist. But we are looking for landlords who are not waiting for their hand to be forced, but are humane about what a home really means.

Begging for a home for you and your family is soul destroying at the best of times. We can do that for you, for a £60 monthly placement fee we will represent you in the area that you are looking for a home, where you may otherwise face discrimination for one reason or another.

We care about you and your family, and we appreciate the importance of using a medium rather than sharing your personal information for all to see.

Further improvements to the private rented sector

The private rented sector white paper also committed to further reforms to support both landlords and tenants. We remain fully committed to implementing these reforms and will bring forward legislation at the earliest opportunity to:

Make it illegal for landlords and agents to have blanket bans on renting to tenants in receipt of benefits or with children – ensuring no family is unjustly discriminated against when looking for a place to live;

Information relating to the Renters (Reform) Bill which was introduced to Parliament on 17 May 2023.

The Renters (Reform) Bill will ensure landlords do not unreasonably withhold consent when a tenant requests to have a pet in their home, with the tenant able to challenge unfair decisions.

Information on how the Renters (Reform) Bill supports responsible pet owners in the private rented sector.

As I have recently been supporting a Single Mums Business Network member in her stress around moving home. I am mortified to see so many ads blatantly discriminating against those in receipt of benefits, and how many landlords still do not appreciate the four legged family dynamic.

A home is a home, and as long as the rent is paid and the property is taken care of, the family dynamic or change of income circumstances should not matter.

I will pick this back up now that I despite this court ruling in 2020, landlords are still actively discriminating.

Business was closed today! I had a lovely time at Bristol Shelter volunteering my painting skills! it was really lovely to hear first hand some of the projects they are working and how many people they are helping on a day to day basis.

So many of us are so vulnerable to being made homeless and Charities such as Shelter are crucial to help us through difficult times. Taking time out from our own day-to-day business and activities to volunteer in such away helps us to remain grounded and connect with the real issues that surround us.

With connection comes greater understanding and raised awareness of how we can help to build a better society. It just needs a few leaders, a few game-changers, a few people in power with the ability to make small life altering changes to what is perceived to be normal.

Longer tenancy agreements (of course with landlord protection clauses!)
The freedom to decorate one's home
The freedom to hang pictures (enjoy a private life & make a home!)
The freedom to have pets in your family

Being a tenant is rarely a lifestyle choice
Being in receipt of benefits is rarely a lifestyle choice
Minimum wage is legal, not ethical
Working a 25 hour week really need not be a problem.. Most people would jump at the chance to work in school hours & be removed from the benefits system & vulnerable living

Decent working hours, decent wage, decent tenancies, and happy landlords with a property at the end of covered mortgage payments !

Also, mortgages - end, tenancies, never end, you find that rent til the day you die. So much work to be done here guys! More leaders & game changers required.
