🍓🥕 A huge thank you to our village volunteers! 🥕🍓

With the roadworks making deliveries ‘challenging’ at the moment, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to have such amazing community support. Before the closures begin each morning, our volunteers, young, and slightly older, have been making very early trips to Ebrington to collect our fruit and vegetable supplies.

Thanks to them, we’ve been able to keep our shelves stocked with fresh produce and continue serving the village despite the disruption.

We are so grateful for the time, effort and community spirit shown by everyone involved. It’s a wonderful reminder of what makes our village so special. ❤️

Today we said a very special goodbye to Paula on her final day delivering our Outreach Post Office Service before her retirement 💐

After more than 17 years of dedication, kindness and being such a valued part of our team, we gathered together to celebrate everything she has given to the shop and community over the years.

Thanks to everyone’s generous contributions, we were able to present Paula with a voucher for the beautiful Thyme Hotel along with some flowers and a bottle of champagne 🌸

Fresh from the farms to Longborough Shop 🌱🍓🥕

From Drinkwaters in Ebrington, our shelves are bursting with the very best seasonal produce — vibrant strawberries, tender British asparagus, leafy greens, sweet carrots, beetroot, broccoli and more. Freshly picked, locally grown and packed with flavour & goodness in every bite.

Also, introducing Billy’s Natural & Honest range. These eggs come from free-range hens, roaming freely in woodland and cared for to the highest welfare standards. Fed a natural diet free from soy, palm oil, GM ingredients, and artificial colours, just honest, wholesome goodness in every egg.

🚧 ROADWORKS CONCERNS 🚧

Many of you will have heard about the planned road closure through all of Longborough from 2nd-10th June, with access to the whole village restricted between 9am–3pm.

We’ve raised concerns with Gloucestershire Highways about the impact this will have on the village shop and café, particularly for:
• elderly customers
• daytime visitors
• deliveries and suppliers
• passing trade
that all help to keep the shop viable

Unfortunately, we’ve been told the works “cannot be phased”, despite requests to consider alternative arrangements that would maintain some access during the works.

If you would like to support the shop and café, please consider sending a polite email asking the Council to reconsider the plans and look again at phasing the works:
