Our bespoke West Chevington sign mysteriously 'disappeared' Friday/Saturday last week. This follows a discussion about our hamlet's missing signs at the parish council meeting the day before. We'd like our sign back so will the person who's removed it, return it.

Our opposition to plans for an industrial solar site in the hamlet continues. If approved, it would be less than 10-metres from homes including a listed farmhouse, and it would bring hundreds of 3-metre high panels, security fencing and yet more CCTV cameras to blight us. The original permission for homes here made it clear that this land must be returned to use as a 'paddock for grazing'.

Our MP, Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan came to visit us on Friday to discuss some of the many issues affecting residents at West Chevington after six years of development. We also discussed our concerns about the new proposal for a solar farm. Northumberland County Council were invited but did not attend and our questions on planning and enforcement remain unanswered.

Here we go again… the solar farm application has been resubmitted by the developer, Genesis One. We believe that our hamlet with a listed building and historical heritage is not an appropriate site for this.
