Little Sophie eager to get out and help catch a rat in a bedroom.
Unfortunately the rat got behind a huge wardrobe that was unable to be moved and proved difficult trying to get it out !

We left two snap traps in the bedroom.
A few hours later a very happy customer messaged to say the rat was caught!!
Great result!!!

We are returning this week to establish exactly the cause of how this rat got in to the property.
Potentially it Was an open door from the house to the garden left open for the dog, but also it could be an internal fault as some activity in loft the space had been heard in previous weeks .

Thankfully we caught the rat quickly that was stuck in the bedroom!!! 😅😅🐀🐀🐀🐀❌❌

Round up of the summer & Coming months:

Very busy summer with wasps & hornets ,
good healthy numbers this year and still getting anything from 5 - 10 call outs a week at present.

Squirrels have been in abundance and causing lots & lots of problems this year , probably the busiest spell we have had on them in recent years..
Numbers are definitely on the increase . Not a good thing given how destructive they are to other wildlife and habitats in general, oh and peoples loft spaces, facias & guttering!!! 😅😅

Steady number of fleas , bed bugs , cockroaches , carpet moths and others insect jobs also,
Grain weevil etc.

Rats and mice have been steady all through the summer, But definitely a decline in mouse jobs for us and a rise in rat jobs.
Some pest controllers in the inner city’s will be very busy with the normal house mouse.
I’d say 1 in 10 mouse jobs are house mice for us .
Being more rural based its field mice that we are dealing with unfortunately.
We will always look at ways to prevent them getting in so you don’t have to call us out again.
We would much rather not have to deal with field mice .

Coming into the winter I feel it’s going to be a busy rat year … going by the last 4 weeks and the amount of rat jobs we have had come in .
I think this potentially indicates things could get alot busier as time goes on into the colder months.

I feel they have had a very good breeding summer and now with this wet weather and change in temperature,
the drive for alternative Warmer places to be other than in the sewers and outdoor spaces is inevitable.

They do die in some places at times….
This customer cleaned the fridge out twice thinking something was going off in there !!!
Something was going off !!
Just not in there 😅😅

This property had an internal rat issue where they were coming up via the drains and getting out under the house … this big jill rat had been around for some time in the property before we were called in , coming up into the kitchen from under the floor following pipe works up under the kitchen units ,
as is the case most of the time .
Finally it had taken our bait a week later we have a result.
Rat stopper fitted and some precautionary out side blocking will ensure all possible entry points for any rats and mice are blocked off
To stop them entering the property in the future. 🐀🐀🐀🐀❌❌❌❌
