Are all or indeed any of my friends prepared for Christmas? I mucked up on cards (work took precedence) but I have my traditional duck in, to go with sprouts and chestnuts, carrot, broccoli, parsnip and roast potatoes.

As we all tuck into whatever festive food we have, I hope we'll all remember those less fortunate. If you can give anything back, please do. And remember Christmas is a hard time for many; I lost my parents on 19th December (2014) and 27th December (1986) - others will have had the same experience more recently and it will be raw.

But please friends - do what you can to have a Merry Christmas whoever you're sharing it with. Much love to all!

A humble peasant’s wife churned butter into perfect little one-kilogram wheels, and he sold them at the local grocer’s shop. Business was good—until the grocer suspected foul play. One morning, he weighed the butter and discovered each wheel was only 900 g, not a full kilogram!

Furious, the merchant shouted, “Don’t bring me your butter again, cheat! You promised a kilo, but it’s always short. Get out of my shop and never come back!”

The poor farmer lowered his head and whispered, “Sir, you’re mistaken—I have no scales. I’ve always measured my butter against the kilogram of sugar I once bought from you. That’s my only standard.”

💡 Moral of the story: We judge others by the measure we ourselves use—so choose your standards wisely!
