Thank you to our flooring partners, Newcastle Flooring for kindly donating the flooring as part of our recent project to create and upgrade the new multipurpose office space at Feeding Families in Blaydon.

We are proud to work with Newcastle Flooring, and this donation will allow Feeding Families to grow further by supporting more of the local community.

Could you take on a front of house volunteering role at The Bay Foodbank?

Alan here, gives out most of our parcels with a friendly word and a helping hand. Positive changes in our front of house means we have more opportunities for people to get involved.

We're looking for volunteers that can have a chat to our clients while they wait for their food parcel, signpost them to services for additional support if needed and help with packing parcels.
Our clients come from all walks of life and many are dealing with complicated situations. We're here to give people the breathing space they need without judgement - you can't focus on anything if you literally don't know where your next meal is coming from.

So if you are that welcoming, chatty person who understands people's lives can be difficult for many reasons, and being hungry doesn't help, please go to our website to apply on line.

This volunteer role has a range of training provided and is ideally suited to those with a background in health, education or social support. If you are currently looking for work experience as part of your training in these fields please get in touch.

I visited the amazing Cedarwood Trust this week in North Tyneside to chat about how they can be even more inclusive… and wow! 🤩

They already have wheelchair-accessible rides in their playground! Of course I just had to give them a try!

Huge thanks to Soloman for the guided tour, and I’m really looking forward to coming back very soon. I’m not entirely sure I wrote all the measurements down correctly… so I may just have to have another go 😉

So yesterday, Cherri along with seven other new and/or well established organisations had the privilege of representing businesses in North Tyneside.
She felt honoured to be asked to attend one of the North East Mayoral strategic authority feedback sessions with Danielle Phillips MBA FIIC and Caroline Fenwick

They were asked to provide honest feedback on our experiences of setting up and growing a business, and had opportunities to give their opinions on what works well and not so well for business owners in the area.

We very much look forward to hearing what this means for us all in the coming years in business and we hope that the feedback we gave, along with the other six regions helps to shape the support for the future.
