Not sure this can even be called work but we took a bit of time out recently with the wonderful team at to get trained up on their amazing cookers. These are now available through and have been complimenting our outdoor projects. Hope you all had a great weekend in the sun 🌞 We got this patio and new retainer and steps completed last week along with some maintenance on the gutters just in time. Feels like the summers well on its way and looking forward to topping up the vitamin D and putting the trousers away!

That’s a wrap for another week and what a treat to get back outdoors onto some exterior work. We’ve been a bit quiet on our socials recently but what a busy winter! Watch this space for some of our latest developments and projects.

We love taking on ambitious projects, and this one was no exception
The brief was to craft a breathtaking space that transported you to a world of light and airy elegance, utilizing stunning materials and striking architectural design.
With a bold concept came a challenging build.
Collaborating closely with the client and suppliers, we designed an oak superstructure featuring beams weighing over 800 kilos. Our skilled carpenters expertly assembled the frame, paving the way for decoration and glazing to bring this one-of-a-kind project to life.

This wet room was designed around the concept of more accessibility, whilst still looking stylish and modern.

We had to convert one of the bedrooms on the first floor in a Victorian property, which came with the challenge of routing plumbing as well as working with 150 plus years of previous alterations.

The floors were reinforced as they had been notched out so much for wiring and old services that they had lost their strength. Plumbing and electrics were upgraded to suit modern standard, to then be finished in decorative panelling and a brand new shower suite.

Quite often with renovation and re-fit the majority of the graft is never seen but good preparation is essential to the longevity of a quality finish.

We called in to see the final touches the client had put to this little gem. Originally this was a room on the back of a Victorian Navel Officers House in the West Wight but when the owners were breaking out an old shower they found a little surprise in the form of a basement😳. The work was carried out in stages due to the property being used as a seasonal holiday let.

Stage 1 was to carefully remove all the lower ground walls and concrete floor making everything structurally sound.

Stage 2 was to fit a bespoke winding staircase, shower room, bedroom and dressing room.

Everything on this project had to be carefully considered due to the tight space. It literally had to be millimetre perfect to give a useable space but well worth the effort!

A little while ago we were in a very reflective mood resulting in a heartfelt post thanking all our amazing clients, for all the hard work put in by the team here at Davis Knight and news that we had entered the 2025 awards.

We are so proud to now be following on from that with the news that we picked up best bathroom project for the southern counties 🤩 What’s made this years awards even more special is that another local company also picked up the award for best kitchen project. Way to go IOW!

Next stop the national awards in Manchester and we can’t thank everyone enough for the recognition. We really are thankful to everyone involved.

With the weather changing we’ve had the chance to get back outdoors ☀️ This bespoke cedar fence and storage area was designed to give the clients a usable space at the front of the house to make the most of the sun. The project also involved laying a new porcelain slab patio and building a octagonal planter to match the bay window.
