As we celebrate Diwali — also known as Deepavali, the Festival of Lights — let’s take a moment to reflect on its beautiful meaning. 🕯️

Diwali is one of the most important festivals in India and is celebrated by millions across the world. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil.

Traditionally, homes are decorated with oil lamps (diyas), colourful rangoli, and lights, while families come together to share sweets, gifts, and blessings. It also marks the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after 14 years in exile and the defeat of the demon king Ravana — a powerful story of courage, righteousness, and faith. 🙏

🌟 A Special Visit to Tirion — from Tirion! 🌟

As young Tirion and her mum, Sara, were driving past our Royal Victoria Court estate, something special caught their eye — our flag proudly flying with the name Tirion on it!

Delighted to see her beautiful name on display, Sara reached out to ask if we had a spare flag. Of course, we were more than happy to say yes.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Tirion, her mum Sara, and her brother, Cadel to our office in Newport, where we handed over a very special flag just for her.

Tirion is a lovely Welsh name meaning kind or gentle. It also holds deeper roots — often interpreted as “little landholder,” it symbolises a strong connection to heritage, land, and community.

We hope this small gesture brings Tirion joy for years to come — and serves as a beautiful reminder of her name’s meaning and her special link to our community. 💚

📢 Royal Victoria Court – Estate Charges Update

We’ve received a few enquiries regarding the estate charges for Royal Victoria Court, so we wanted to provide some clarity for everyone.

As you may know, the estate charge came into effect from 1st April 2025. The estate is expected to be fully completed around June, with some roads already top surfaced and others due for completion shortly.

This year, the management company has reduced the charges to reflect the partial completion of the estate. It’s anticipated that they will take on full responsibility from August 2025, meaning you’ll only be charged for 8 months instead of the full 12. That’s why this year’s cost is approximately 60% of the annual total.
