You may have noticed our grass has been growing at Olympic levels recently!
The mix of warm weather and plenty of rain has created perfect growing conditions — great for nature, but it does mean it’s been more challenging than usual for us to keep up with our cutting schedules.
Our teams are working hard to catch up, and we’re also exploring extra options to help get everything back under control as quickly as possible.
Thanks for your patience and understanding while we tackle the sudden growth.

Today, PCSO Anna and PCSO Clare joined forces with HEDYN to engage with members of our community 💬
The event was a great success, with lots of positive conversations and valuable crime prevention advice shared. From practical tips on staying safe, to listening to local concerns, it was an opportunity to connect, support and reassure 💙
Events like these are so important because they:

✅ Help us understand what matters most to our community
✅ Allow us to work together to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour
✅ Build trust, confidence and stronger neighbourhood relationships

A huge shoutout to St David's Hospice Care for an incredible Dalmatian Bike Ride on Saturday!🚲

We’re so proud to have supported such a fantastic event - the photos say it all!

Massive congratulations to every cyclist (including our amazing Hedyn team!) and a big thank you to the wonderful volunteers who made it all happen. This is our second year as headline sponsor, and we’re delighted to play our part - helping raise vital funds for the hospice while bringing communities, families, and friends together for such a fun-filled day. 🤝

We’ve been proud to support Little Haven Community Centre with help from our contractor Westdale, transforming the outdoor space into a safe, vibrant area for local people of all ages to enjoy.

What’s on offer at Little Haven:

🎓 Aspire - alternative learning for teenagers
👵 Willow Circle - coffee group for older people
👩‍👧‍👦 And breathe - parent and carer support group

We're big fans of your furry family members, but before our plumbers, painters, sparks and neighbourhood officers pop round, please make sure your pets are safely secured.

Excited dogs can make a dash for freedom when the door opens. Curious cats can turn a simple repair into a game of hide and seek.

Painters, plumbers and electricians need space to work safely and efficiently.

A secure pet means a safer visit for your pet, a safer working environment and allows us to get the job done quicker.

So before we knock, please make sure your four-legged supervisor is safely tucked away.

JW was one of the first residents to move into our specialist housing scheme in Torfaen and on Saturday they celebrated a milestone birthday. Thanks to Cartrefi Cymru for helping to organise the best 30th birthday bash. Fancy dress, and plenty of laughs - not even the rain could dampen the celebrations.

Tayah from Cartrefi Cymru praised Housing Officer, Donna for all her work in the background to get the party off the ground. Well done, Donna, putting our residents at the heart of everything we do.

Don't let your waste come back to bite you!

In the Pill area of Newport we’re seeing a big rise in fly tipping and rubbish being left in bin areas, which is attracting rats.

We're working with the council and environmental health and incorrect disposal of rubbish or fly tipping could lead to fines or prosecution.

Items like mattresses, tyres and paint tins are being left on the floor instead of being disposed of properly.

Please put your rubbish into the correct bins. Don’t leave waste on the floor and only use bin chutes for appropriate waste

We want everyone to feel proud of where they live. Thanks for doing your bit!
