Exciting news from CD Architects! 🏗️

We're delighted to share that our planning application for a landmark mixed-use development on a prime corner site in Newry, Co. Down has been APPROVED.



The scheme will see a tired existing retail unit replaced with a vibrant new development comprising:

▪ A new ground-floor retail unit

▪ 9 × 2-bedroom apartments arranged over three upper floors

▪ On-site parking for 6 vehicles with secure roller shutter access

▪ Dedicated bicycle parking and bin storage

▪ Lift and stair access to apartments from Monaghan Street and the rear courtyard

▪ Private external amenity space for each apartment



The design takes a confident, contemporary approach while drawing on the best local traditions of form, materials and detailing. At four storeys, the building's ridge height is sympathetic to its neighbours along Monaghan Street, and its modern character responds positively to the varied and evolving streetscape of this central urban location.

We demolished the old single-storey changing rooms and delivered a stunning new two-storey 2,082 sqm extension featuring:

Sauna & steam rooms
Extra office & storage spaces
Finished in just 7 months ahead of programme / under budget and ready to support local health, fitness and community activity for years to come 💪

🚨 Planning Permission Granted! 🚨

Thrilled to announce that planning permission has been secured for a fantastic new Multi-Use 4G Pitch at St Bronagh's GAA Rostrevor!

As the architects on this exciting project for our great client (St Bronagh GAA Rostrevor), we're proud to see this development move forward.

The approved plans include:

A top-quality 4G multi-use pitch to the rear of the Social Club on Mary Street
Professional ball stops & perimeter fencing
All associated site works
Retention of essential car parking spaces at the rear

This new facility will provide a modern, all-weather surface for Gaelic games, training, community events and more – a huge boost for the club, local youth, and the Rostrevor community! 🔴⚫️

Excited to share this latest drone flyover of the new Hollywood Bowl at The Boulevard, Banbridge.

As the architects on this project, it's incredibly rewarding to see the 21-lane bowling & entertainment centre taking shape. From initial sketches to steel rising and fit-out progressing fast, we're on track for that summer 2026 opening.

This £9m+ development is set to become a major family leisure destination for Banbridge and beyond – 23,000 sq ft of bowling, arcade, dining, and fun.

Big thanks to the team at Lotus Property, Hollywood Bowl, and all our brilliant contractors Killowen Contracts Ltd for pushing this forward.
