➡️ Rendells Auctioneers reports a ring full & a huge requisite of buyers including some we haven't had buying out of Newton Abbot for years.
🐑 The Lamb Trade topped with 331ppkg for a pen of 44kg Beltex lambs from JJ & NA Bell followed by R Wills of Manor Farm topping the market at £152ph. Other Suffolk X & Charollais X lambs from Mike Evans of Dunsford sold to £149 & £146
Prime Cattle
🐂 The Prime Cattle ring was on fire with the top being a South Devon Steer from Peter Horswill of St Budeaux weighing in at 685kg selling to 374ppkg coming to £2,561.90. Cull cows saw a strong trade, all were tested but none farm assured with top price of 262ppkg and the top price per cow coming in at £2,118.20, others achieved at 260ppkg, 259ppkg, 256ppkg and so on.
🐂 The Store Cattle ring with just shy of 100 head, first in the ring were pens of 25 month Friesian Steers from Messrs Downing of Diptford selling to £2,000ph, £1,960 & £1,800. Top of the day was a pen of South Devon Steers 22 months old selling to £2,080. 18 month old Limousin Steers from Chris Wilton made £1,960 within bunches of Charollais X Steers from Rhys Widger of Modbury topping £1,880, £1,700 and £1,680ph. South Devon Steers 15 months from Robin H***e made £1,820 and his 12 month Steers £1,760. 17 month Angus Steers made £1,580, £1,560 and £1,540 with Shorthorn Steers making £1,560 & £1,540 of the same age. Shorthorn Heifers 17 months old made £1,440 & £1,320 and Aberdeen Angus Heifers 17 months old made £1,420 from S Caunter of Totnes. A pair of British Bull Heifers 19 month made £1,280. Last in the ring was a 4 year old Blonde Bull “Toby” from Andrew Mabin of Totnes sold to £1,950.
