π‘ Big Changes Could Be Coming to the House Selling Process
If you've ever bought or sold a home, you'll know just how frustrating the process can be. Delays, paperwork, and sales falling through at the last minute are all too common.
The Government has now announced plans to modernise the system, with the aim of making moving home faster, fairer and less stressful.
Some of the proposed changes include:
β
Sellers providing more key information upfront before a property is marketed.
β
Earlier legally binding agreements to reduce the risk of gazumping, gazundering and last-minute withdrawals.
β
Greater use of digital technology, electronic signatures and identity checks to speed up the conveyancing process.
β
A new Code of Practice and higher professional standards across the industry.
The Government believes these changes could reduce transaction times, lower costs and significantly cut the number of sales that fall through.
As someone who helps buyers and sellers navigate the process every day, anything that brings more certainty and reduces unnecessary delays has to be a positive step.
The details are still being worked through, but this could be one of the biggest changes to the UK home moving process in years.
π What do you think? Would legally binding agreements earlier in the process give you more confidence when buying or selling?
