• Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday we host a mini shop at The Pavilion Creetown called The CAFF. (Creetown Alliance For Food)
• This is possible thanks to the generous support of Kirkmabreck Community Council, The Climate Hub, D & G Council and local donations from businesses small and large and not forgetting our wonderful volunteers who pick up the food from Newton Stewart and Kirkcudbright.
• The CAFF volunteers are there week in week out to pick up the supermarkets donations and also minding The CAFF during opening hours. They are there to ensure the food is displayed and fit for offering for free to our customers. They keep the facilities spotlessly clean and also make a great cuppa for anyone that wants one. 😉
• Summer Opening Times are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 2pm till 4pm
Saturdays and Sundays 12 noon till 2pm.
• Any changes to opening times are posted in Facebook and notice on the door. We are usually open even on public holidays.
• Our shop is free for everyone. We do not ask for donations from our community members. When we need to purchase items, we apply for grants or receive support from generous local businesses.
• We exist to take good food from supermarkets etc and redistribute it within the community rather than it going into landfill.
• The only money we ask for is a donation for hot drinks and sweet treats of whatever you think it is worth to you.
• We ask that our community respect that The CAFFis for everyone and to only take a fairshare, leaving some for others.
• If you'd like to attend, you are very welcome. Please bring a carrier bag if possible and a tupperware container is always handy too!
• If you work during the day, or can't make any of our opening times, but want to take advantage of this wonderful service, please contact us and we will discuss with you what can be done.
• If you are in need of more consistent support, https://newtonstewart.org/services/listing/1556/
has information for those in need. The CAFF is open to anyone.
[I will pin this post to featured so that community members will be able to find this information easily. If you notice someone asking about The CAFF, feel free to tag them in this post :) ]
