What a beautiful keepsake to leave behind at The Cabin Cefn Mawr 💚🎨🖼

One of our lovely guests recently left us this gorgeous watercolour of the view from the cabin, painted during her stay, along with the sweetest handwritten card. 🥰

It’s so special when guests take the time to leave a little piece of their stay behind, and this painting has captured the rolling hills, fields and countryside around Cefn Mawr beautifully.

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and personal gift. It will be treasured and has already found a special place here at The Cabin. ❤️

Today I return to civilisation.

“Am I ready?

I think not, but it would be hard to leave this place regardless.

Already the chickens and peafowl are accustomed to my presence, and greet me in the mornings. My days were mainly spent on the terrace with them, the coffee, and the view.

The quiet farm has been impressive - the peace of mind even more so - both virtues which this place offers in abundance.

If life could be so peaceful… Alas, now I make my leave.”

If you’ve been thinking about getting away to The Cabin Cefn Mawr, now is the time to book! 🏡🌿

We’ll be closing The Cabin from 1st January 2027 for a period of time, so these are the last opportunities to enjoy a stay with us before we take a break.

📅 Availability remaining includes:
🌿 Late August – a small number of dates
🍂 September – plenty of availability, including early, mid and late month
🎃 October – good availability, including the first three weeks
🍁 November – availability at the beginning and towards the end of the month
🎄 December – currently fully available, including the run-up to Christmas and New Year!

A Little Update 🏡

We wanted to let you know that, from 1st January 2027, we will be temporarily closing our bookings for an unknown period of time.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has stayed with us, recommended us, followed our journey and supported our little holiday let. 🥰

If you already have a booking with us, please don’t worry all existing bookings will be honoured as planned. ❤️

We’ll share an update as soon as we know more and, hopefully, we’ll be welcoming guests back before too long.

We’re not a big commercial enterprise — The Cabin Cefn Mawr is one little private log cabin nestled in the hills of mid Wales 🏡 ❤️

So when you see us posting about the cabin there really is only one!

Which also means it's a good reason to book ahead if you have a particular date in mind.

✨ Meet the Owner ✨

Hi, I'm Charlotte 👋

The two handsome boys with me are Frankie and Reggie, they're my biggest supporters (and sometimes my helpers too!).

People often ask who runs everything here, and the honest answer is... me! 😄

For the last 6 years, I've been running my holiday let alongside working part-time for the local Health Board. Being a single mum means life is always busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

When I'm not welcoming guests, you'll usually find me: 🌿 Gardening 🧹 Cleaning 🔨 Fixing and maintaining the property 🛏️ Preparing for new arrivals 📋 Answering enquiries ...and pretty much everything else in between!

Home is also wonderfully chaotic thanks to our family pets. Alongside my boys, we have our dog Arlo, chickens, a tortoise, and even a peacock and peahens! 🐶🐔🐢🦚

I've called Mid Wales home for the past 26 years, and I absolutely love sharing this beautiful part of the world with our guests. There's nothing more rewarding than knowing people have made special memories here.

Thank you to everyone who has stayed with us, recommended us, or simply followed our journey. Your support means the world to our little family, and we can't wait to welcome many more guests in the years to come. ❤️

A little something different from our usual holiday let posts today. 🏡

I don't normally ask people to like and share my posts, but this time I'm making an exception.

Gethin Waen has officially gone on the market. This was Brians farm, and after he sadly passed away in 2019, Mum has worked incredibly hard to keep everything going. Now, the time has come for her to slow down a little and enjoy the next chapter of her life.

As this page has such an amazing following from all over the UK and even continental Europe I thought it would be a wonderful way to help spread the word. You never know who might be looking for a beautiful countryside property or know someone who is.

✨ A little update from the cabin! ✨

Today we completed the new fencing around the back of the cabin, and I hadn't realised what a lovely little suntrap this area is! ☀️ It's the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful countryside views.

I'm hoping to add some steps leading from the garden up to the patio area during my next gap between guests. In the meantime, if you choose to use this route rather than the trellis entrance, please take extra care as the access is still a work in progress.

Thank you for your patience while I continue making improvements to create the best possible stay for our guests. 💚
