It’s great to be able to finally share some of the progression footage for Wharton Construction of the new McDonald’s Drive Thru in Northallerton. This was a 10 week project that involved weekly photography, videography and aerial mapping to document the development of the site and keep track of any changes.

Capturing site progression is key for any major project and serves as great material for marketing. It also allows for long distance developments to be monitored closely, meaning less site visits and no more dragging car journeys. Collecting frequent data, wether that be just images, a time-lapse or a full topographic survey, gives a visual idea of what stage the project is at and provides much broader and greater detail of the site as a whole.

It was great to spend Tuesday morning this week with the lads from Auto Spray Systems at East End Nurseries in Hull for a demonstration of their XAG P40 spraying drone in action. The drone was used to shade a section of a greenhouse roof, providing a much faster and safer application method than climbing along the gutters with a hosepipe! The roof also received a more even cover of liquid with less than half the amount of paint used when compared to traditional methods. It seems a no brainer for greenhouse nurseries to look into this safer, faster and cheaper way of shading!

XAG drones were originally designed to be used in agriculture, capable of spraying and seeding up to 20 hectares per hour. They can be used to cover hard to reach areas, seed into standing crops and spot spray from a prescription map. Overall, these machines are perfect for increasing productivity and saving costs!

Final visit to the McDonald’s development in Northallerton, Northallerton and Thirsk McDonald's, before the opening day on October 11th! 🍔🍟

Today involved shooting both aerial photo and video, as well as imagery for a 2D orthomosaic map of the site.

This is our 9th week taking progression shots for Wharton Construction and the results are coming on nicely!
