What do we check in bathrooms/en-suites?

We spend extra time in wet areas of your new build, spotting potential issues here early can save thousands of £££'s and weeks of upheaval in your home. Any potential leak cannot become obvious for months, until at a time when it has already created large scale damage.

• For this reason, we test all your water fixtures, sinks & baths are filled to check for water tightness and that overflows operate correctly. We check all visible plumbing joints for signs of leaks or loose connections.
• We remove bath panels and shower plinths where possible to inspect all the plumbing under these.
• All baths and shower trays are checked to make sure they are firmly fixed to the floor to prevent future movement thus breaking any seals, as well as they are levelled correctly to prevent any standing water.
• Shower enclosures and screens are checked for water tightness and that the mastic sealant is up to a good standard.
• Grouting is checked for any gaps holes where water can pe*****te and cause problems further down the line.
• Toilets are checked for secureness/functionality and leaks.

Unfortunately, in every new build home some of these problems will be in our reports…
