Happisburgh Lifeboat are the first rescue on tonight's show and it really is one to watch. It really does help highlight how much the volunteers give up to save lives (listen for the Glitter) Well done team!

Our lovely Arna ❤️

Yesterday we had a full-on changeover, getting everything ready for our next lovely guests, and Arna always likes to inspect the cottages before your arrival. She needs to make sure the treats are up to standard, the toys are squeaky enough and, most importantly, that everything meets her very high standards! 😂

But her favourite Friday ritual… is TEA TIME! ☕️🤣

Just over halfway through a changeover, we like to stop for a quick cuppa and a little catch-up with the team. Of course, Arna insists on being right in the middle of it all.

And did I mention we normally have a biscuit (or sometimes a small cake 👀), depending on what our lovely guests have left us as a thank you.

Arna is, naturally, very helpful with the quality control. 😂❤️

It’s one of those little moments we love about running Oak Tree Cottages. It’s not just about getting the cottages ready, it’s the lovely little routines, the team, the dogs and all the wonderful people who make it feel like home. 🥰

🚨 DID YOU KNOW OUR COTTAGES HAVE THEIR VERY OWN HERO? 🚨

As many of you know, our very own Chris (my husband ❤️ who may also kill me for this post 🤣) volunteers with the RNLI at Happisburgh.

Last year, Chris and his crew were tasked to an unresponsive kayaker off the Norfolk coast, and this week, you’ll get to see them in action.

To say I’m proud is a bit of an understatement. ❤️ I see the time, commitment and dedication that goes into volunteering with the RNLI, often giving up evenings, weekends and family time to answer the call when someone needs help. It’s something I know I could never do myself, and I am in awe of Chris and every single one of the volunteers who put themselves out there to help others. Seeing him on the programme is going to be a very proud and probably slightly emotional moment. 🥹❤️

It’s not every day you can say that alongside staying at a place where dogs are genuinely welcome, you’re also staying at cottages run by a local RNLI volunteer who helps keep our coastline safe. 🛟🐾

So next Tuesday, put the kettle on, get cosy and watch Chris and his team in action. We certainly will! ❤️

🌧️ Rainy days were made for cosy cottages… 🔥

It’s a rather soggy one here today, but thankfully there’s always a warm and welcoming spot waiting at The Forge. ❤️

Imagine coming back from a muddy dog walk, kicking off your boots, settling in with your dog(s) and getting cosy beside the fire. 🐾🐶

Sometimes the best cottage breaks are the ones where you have absolutely no plans other than walk, relax, warm up, repeat. ☕️🔥

And yes… we’re very dog friendly! 🐾

🐾🌾 Horsey Windpump – National Trust

We had a lovely visit to Horsey Windpump in the holidays! Such a beautiful spot and definitely well worth a visit if you’re in the area. 💚

The windpump itself isn’t dog friendly, but dogs are welcome everywhere else, so it’s a great place to enjoy a wander and take in the scenery 🐶 seating available outside if you want to take it in turns to go up. Highly recommend.

Beautiful views, lots of history and a lovely day out. 🌾💨

Definitely one to add to the list! 😊

We had the loveliest visit to see the Horsey seals at the weekend! 🦭❤️

There were absolutely loads of them, swimming in the sea and relaxing along the beach. It was such a special experience seeing them in their natural environment, and we could have watched them for hours! 🥰

A little reminder for anyone visiting: these are wild animals, so please give them plenty of space and keep at least 100 metres away. Please also keep dogs on leads at all times around the seals. 🐕🦭

It’s so important that we enjoy these beautiful animals without disturbing them. Keep your distance, stick to the viewing areas and let the seals do their thing. ❤️
