The Comfort concept was developed in late 2009 and the agency first started trading soon after in January 2010 with a temporary website erected in December 2010. Phil and Ben, both Chartered Accountants, who studied Mechanical Engineering at Nottingham University, utilised their local knowledge to buy dilapidated properties and redevelop them into accommodation for students. However, the level of
professionalism and client service that they were so used to within the accountancy sector left them feeling that there was a gap in the market for a professional agency that provided high end student accommodation. In December 2010 significant work was carried out in order to grow the business and enable the brand to gain favour in the local market with a fresh and contemporary image. Tom Kite, an experienced local lettings manager, was invited to join the team from a much larger student letting agency as he was keen to be part of something that offered a real choice. Tom’s role is to facilitate and manage Comfort on a day to day level and he has now taken up the Managing Partner role here at Comfort Letting Agents LLP.
