The Waterside Primary Academy is set to open for the start of academic year in September 2024.

The new school located off Trent Lane will accommodate 210 school pupils and 30 full-time nursery places.

The school will boast sustainability principles at the core of its design and there’ll be a number of additional off-site highway measures incorporated into the proposed layout.

With just 4 more days to go until Christmas Day, we wanted to share our top 5 sustainable Christmas ideas with you.

Wrap gifts using recycled paper or fabric

Buy recyclable Christmas cards and crackers

Switch your battery powered Christmas lights to LED lights

Recycle second hand gifts

Cut back on festive food waste

Following from the previous success we had for our Christmas charity collection that Trent Basin raised as a community with the help of William H Brown Estate Agents - West Bridgford and donated to Broxtowe Children's Centre, we have decided to bring the Trent Basin community together again this year to help less fortunate children and families this Christmas through toy donations.

If you are having a clear out this Christmas to make room for new gifts, rather than throwing out the old toys, please gift them to Broxtowe Children's Centre where they will be cleaned and distributed to the children and families that may struggle to finance Christmas this year.

The collection point is in the Trent Bdin library and the deadline for donations will be Friday 16th December 12pm.

A new survey shows that 89% of young adults aged 16-18 have never been asked their opinion about the future of their neighbourhood. Young people are the future of our neighbourhoods, so we decided to act upon this statistic with a consultation in collaboration with young people at delivered by .

ZCD’s approach is about listening to and hearing what young people tell us about their local spaces and places, through discussion about their lived experiences. The techniques that they use focus not on what young people ‘like’ or ‘don’t like’, but rather on how they feel, where they have agency and control and how this relates to their sense of happiness and wellbeing. The process not only gives a voice to young people, it values their contributions and helps us design better communities for them and all age groups.

We’ll be revealing more about our findings in the across the next few weeks and how it will influence the design and development of future phases of Trent Basin,

We're alway's interested in championing business close to Trent Basin and there is nothing better than Louisa's Chocolate. Louisa is the first and to our knowledge the only 'Bean to Bar' chocolate producer in the city. This means she grinds the speciality cocoa beans from scratch, making delicious and unique, handmade chocolates from her unit at Sneinton Market. If you're having a quiet night in, there's nothing better than some speciality chocolate and film too. Think of this chocolate like a fine wine, not too sweet, full of natural flavour and complexity. Delicious!!!
