Lovely little door repair at the start of this week. The pair maker to this substantial front door had been damaged and in turn was coming loose. On inspection the existing piece was a soft pine strip which had been poorly adhered to the painted finish of the door and then screwed with internal screws which were all pretty much rusted through. After removing the strip, screws and adhesive I spent some time cleaning and sanding the area which I was going to be bonding the new pair maker too. Took it back to the raw wood and scored the area so that the wood glue I was using would give a much stronger adhesion and also bond the two pieces of timber together perfectly. I sourced a lovely piece of Iroko Hardwood from and put a round over detail to both sides prior to colour match painting. I then glued and pinned the piece on before sanding and filling before a finishing coat to complete. Really happy with how this one came out.

What a difference a few days makes... This client was suffering from major issues internally on this bay window. Having big problems with water ingress affecting the window cills, walls and areas of the ceiling. As you can see the old pebble dash render was literally on its last legs!! Not only had the top coat almost removed itself away from the underneath. The wire mesh holding it to the timbers was also rusted through. Once it was all broken off and cleared down, it showed a serious lack in insulation to the walls and also internal ceiling below. We added 100mm of insulation where possible and then a breathable membrane layer to tie it all in. We then battened out over the membrane to leave an air gap which is crucial for creating a ventilated, rainscreen cavity that prevents moisture buildup and rot behind the final layer of 12mm cement board. Then all that was left to do was the render. Called in the guys from and they absolutely out did themselves on this one. Advised us on the K Rend - Ecorend in Marble White which ties in lovely with the existing aesthetics of the property. These guys are highly recommended 11/10

Shed Project - Client needed an update to their old leaky shed. They wanted to keep the area for storage but also give them the ability to enhance their love of planting and cultivation. So constructed a new smaller shed with a glazed extension. The area was compacted and levelled and a subframe built to raise the structure off of the ground giving it a longer lifespan. Everything got a double coating of Ducks back paint in Matt Black. The internal greenhouse floor was given layers of w**d suppressant throughout and finished with some decorative stone.

Feature fireplace Project. After removing the old plaster we found the existing opening was quite small and had a lot of bad brick repairs over the years. We made the opening bigger and back to its original size, fire boarded the internals and also the face and returns. We used some reclaimed grey slate slabs of the hearth and used Blend 71 on the fire place opening. Found an old reclaimed post and aged it even further to give it some beautiful patina, then stained with coffee to give it the rich colour. Finished it off with some clear satin oil by .

Kitchen Storage Project. The client wanted more storage space and to utilise the space left from the old boiler housing in the current kitchen. Designed and constructed a new bespoke cabinet to make use of the wasted space on the corner of the kitchen worktop. The Client then colour matched the existing cabinetry paint to tie it all together.

Little under-stairs cupboard project completed. Client wanted a clean and fresh new look, with cupboard storage, worktop space and open shelving for all those pantry items. Also to remove some of the bulkier items from the main kitchen worktops as well. Some bespoke cabinetry was built utilising some carcasses, then bespoke louvre doors, plywood worktops and shelving were added later.

Compact garage conversion which was completed at the back end of 2025. The client wanted an extra working / living space along with an additional shower room. Some good planning and design were needed throughout the project to accommodate the clients needs. Was super happy with how this one turned out.
