We LOVE supporting local here at The Cluster Co-working no matter where that particular local happens to be.

And today, local was Maidenhead.

Enter Presto, Italian Street Food an absolute Italian treasure trove of dangerously delicious pastries, incredible savoury snacks and cracking coffee!

Independent, full of character and exactly the sort of place we love discovering and shouting about.

Which got me thinking…

The Cluster is our independent co-working and event space in Oxford - a slightly different sort of place to work, meet, create, hold events and generally escape the bland, boring office.

Now I just need to find the right slightly quirky building and The Cluster Maidenhead might just have to become a thing…

At The Cluster, we think work is only really palatable when it’s peppered with a little silliness and jollity.

It’s in the artwork. It’s in the décor. And now, apparently, it’s in the jigsaw. Because jigsaws are meant to be excellent for mindfulness. Allegedly.

Personally, I tend to get halfway through, lose the will to live, and wander off for a coffee. But still… here we have our very own Cluster jigsaw.

Work. Coffee. A little nonsense. And 1,000 tiny pieces you’ll inevitably blame someone else for losing.

Co-working Alexa CO-WORKING!

After a busy day building your empire, otherwise known as trying to work out whether you can squeeze three bloody gazebos into your courtyard at The Cluster for an upcoming art market, you naturally come home, put your feet up and… start chatting to inanimate objects.

Because apparently this is my life now.

And, incidentally, we DID get all three gazebos in. With help. There was measuring. There was manoeuvring. There may have been language unsuitable for Alexa’s younger users. But they fit.

So when I got home, I decided to ask Alexa some of life’s most important questions.

On the whole, she absolutely nailed it. Her pronunciation, however, needs a little work. See if you can spot it…

Meanwhile, in actual Cluster news, we’re rather excited to announce that, due to demand, we’re about to install FOUR new dedicated desks at The Cluster.

So if you’ve been thinking about making The Cluster your regular work home, now would be a good time to get your name down for one.

I mean you could work from home.

You could attempt eight hours in a noisy café while nursing one increasingly cold flat white.

You could perch somewhere with a laptop, a plug socket and the growing realisation that this really isn’t working.

Just a stroll through Jericho and then a day full of meetings!

Apparently I’ve accidentally started a new career as a filmmaker. Sadly, most of my work features the floor and my feet! Welcome to my ever-growing collection of videos I absolutely did not mean to take on my iPhone.

Grab a seat. Possibly a bucket too - this particular cinematic masterpiece may induce mild seasickness.
Think of it as a secret, behind-the-scenes glimpse (of almost no use whatsoever) into the glorious chaos of running your own small business.

What am I doing? Where am I going? Why am I filming any of it? Nobody knows.

But somewhere amongst the invoices, ideas, forgotten cups of coffee, minor disasters and crap videos I absolutely bloody love it.

Anyway, enjoy. Scorsese can sleep easy for another night. 😂
