Moving to Cornwall? Here’s what we’d tell anyone thinking about making the leap.
Most people focus on the obvious things first. The beaches. The sea views. The slower pace of life.
And whilst those things absolutely matter, there are a few things that matter even more.
📍 Location isn’t just about being near the coast. Different parts of Cornwall offer completely different lifestyles. Harbour towns, surfing hotspots, countryside villages, market towns. The right choice depends on how you want to spend your days.
🏡 Think beyond summer. Summer is for outside, but when the weather turns, you’ll spend a lot more time at home. Make sure you’re choosing somewhere you genuinely enjoy being. Think about the views, the space, the quality of the finishes and how the home feels day to day
🤝 Community matters. Whether you’re moving from elsewhere in Cornwall or relocating from further afield, feeling part of a community can make all the difference. It’s one of the reasons we’re creating more than just homes at West Carclaze. Shared green spaces, community gardens, lakes, trails and future village amenities are all designed to bring people together.
🌿 And remember, not all new-build developments are the same. Look beyond the brochure. Think about the long-term vision, the quality of the homes, the sustainability credentials and the lifestyle being created around them.
For us, Cornwall living is about finding the right balance. Close to beautiful beaches and harbour towns, surrounded by nature, with space to breathe and a community to belong to.
If moving to Cornwall is something you’ve been thinking about, save this post for later and send it to someone who’s dreaming of making the move.
