My two beautiful guests were taken for a day out to Hornsea then Kilnsea yesterday where their “hoomans” treated them both to a fluffy seagul each! Said hoomans then had excellent refreshments at the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust cafe at Kilnsea. A very up-to-date recommendation for this dog-friendly cafe.

Fancy grabbing an end of summer break? Birches’ Roost has availability from 24th September to 4th October. Sleeps 4 and is pet friendly. 🐕. Plenty room to secure bicycles, surf boards etc in our large lockable garage.

What will we be doing?

We will be walking, talking, listening, observing and recording elements of the landscape and our time together as we wander the pathways and the sands of this location…

The intention is to put to one side the busyness of life, to relax and open our eyes to where we are, and breath in the isolated beauty and fresh air of Spurn Point.

Would anyone like to have a great day at The Black Sheep and Dog, trying out different crafts? I have five days from 10th October available at Birches’ Roost, (sleeps 4) just two minutes away!

Something a bit different as a workshop idea!

Enjoy a full day of craft workshops with this crafting taster day. Each workshop will be 1 hour long with short refreshment breaks in between. There will be a light buffet lunch provided by Cakey Bakey Yum Yum

The workshops include Tealight making with Candle Bright Co. Picture needle felting with Sheila Smith-Mail, French cord wiring with Dark Dog Creations, fused glass with and kinusaiga art with me!

The event will take place on Sunday the 11th October 10am-4pm at Patrington Village Hall. The cost for the full day is £55 which includes all materials and refreshments and a £20 deposit is required at the time of booking. Take home with you 5 unique pieces of craft handmade by yourself 😍

The road signs are up! 2026 Tour of Britain men’s cycle race Stage 3 starts on 4th September from Hull and ends in Beverley, taking in 200.6 km of our local landscape, passing through Patrington to Withernsea, Hornsea and up the coast to Skipsea. Come and cheer them on and spend the weekend at Birches Roost!
