Per Ardua is a spacious, detached house, surrounded by extensive private gardens and situated in the pretty village of Penally. A delightful patio area with furniture and a barbecue is the perfect place to relax in the warmth of the afternoon and evening sun. The property is furnished and equipped to an extremely high standard making this an ideal choice for that special holiday. The village shop, pubs and local restaurants are all within easy walking distance. Tenby town is just a mile away and easy access to the spectacular Pembrokeshire National Park coastal paths is just a short walk away. A regular bus service runs through the village and the railway station is conveniently situated near the village centre.

Stunning Barafundle Bay has been named the fifth best beach in Europe in Time Out’s 2026 rankings, placing it ahead of famous stretches of coastline in Greece, Italy and Croatia.

Hidden on the Stackpole Estate, Barafundle is famous for its golden sand, clear water, and dramatic cliffs. There is no road directly to the beach; visitors must take a beautiful half-mile walk from Stackpole Quay before the bay appears below.

From Tenby, Stackpole Quay is about a 25-minute drive, with the walk to the beach adding another 10 to 15 minutes.

It’s the kind of place that could be mistaken for somewhere much farther away, yet one of Europe’s top-rated beaches is practically on Tenby’s doorstep.

If you don’t mind putting in a little effort to reach it, Swanlake Bay is a beautiful spot to discover near Manorbier.

The beach is accessible on foot via the Pembrokeshire Coast Path or a public footpath, with no roadside parking. The nearest parking is at Manorbier or Freshwater East, both roughly 1.5 miles from the beach.

Swanlake Bay is mainly a shingle beach, but when the tide goes out it reveals golden sands and rock pools beneath low cliffs. Even at the height of summer, Visit Pembrokeshire says you could be one of only a handful of visitors.

There are no facilities at the beach, so you’ll want to come prepared. It’s also important to check the tide times before visiting, as the incoming tide can cut you off.

A little harder to reach than some of Pembrokeshire’s better-known beaches, but that’s all part of the appeal. 💙
