Studio West Architects Wins Awards....The Gardeners' House in Penzance was a regional finalist/winner which was then put forward to the National Awards and was awarded highly commended. Such an amazing building, community facility and with the best Client and consultant team ever. The best contractors ever Jewell Construction. The aim of the Civic Trust Awards is to encourage the very best in architecture and environmental design, to improve the built environment for us all through design, sustainability, inclusiveness and accessibility, and also to reward projects that offer a positive cultural, social, economic or environmental benefit to their local communities.

Studio West are very proud to have been involved with this fantastic public building project from its very inception.SWa acted as the designers, project architects and lead consultant. First design ideas were undertaken in 2016. A nine year journey which has been an absolute pleasure and so fantastic to see the end result. More importantly how much of a success it has become and no doubt will continue to grow.

The Gardeners’ House - Penzance. Nearing completion. Designed by Studio West Atchitects. Such an amazing project. Amazing Clients, amazing Contractors (Jewell Construction) and amazing funders. An incredible vision by the truly incredible (sadly late) Melissa Hardie followed through with exception by the wonderful Miki Ashton. We started working on this in 2016. Now a reality which is incredible. And almost seems untrue. What a beautiful and amazing public building and facility. 9 years of hard work and effort to see this become a reality. Worth every second spent. A journey made so special by all of the incredible people involved along the way.

The Gardeners’ House, Penzance is nearing completion. Absolutely beautiful work by Jewell Construction. Amazing!!! Applause to Camborne Joinery for taking on and building this section of bespoke timber framed glazing. 2016 we started our design journey on this project and well… simply breathtaking to see this today. A truly wonderful public building project funded by HLF, PZ Town Council, The Town Deal to name but a few. This will be an incredible public facility and asset for PZ, Cornwall and beyond’. Thanks so much for the invite on this journey Miki Ashton and (the wonderful and greatly missed)) Melissa Hardie.
