Wooden floor staining completed ✅

My first time doing a wooden floor staining and I have to say I’m really pleased with how this has turned out!

There were many layers of varnish and stain to begin with, and in some areas it had started to wear off. But I took the worst of it off with a floor sander using a 40 grit paper, moving up to an 80, and then smoothing off with a 120.

There were a couple of time that I caught the floor with the sander as you can see from the short clip. But I feathered these out using my festool sander, going up through the grits again.

I then applied two coats of Sadolin Classic floor stain in African Walnut, allowing 16 hours before re-coating. After the second coat (which really brought out the colour), the floor was allowed to dry for 5 days before the customers themselves applied two coats of Sadolin Floor Varnish (I went back home to spend a lovely weekend with my son ❤️).

As you can see from the end result, it has come up brilliantly! Lots of lessons learnt along the way, but the most important thing is that I have customers who are thrilled with the end result 👌

Nice little repair job done on this bathroom wall. Bubbled paint scraped back and surface sealed with Gardz, filled and smoothed off then painted 👌

Kitchen/Diner Completed ✅

This was an interesting job with a big twist at the start! Whilst dealing with a crack in the ceiling, it became obvious pretty quick that the previous leak above from the bathroom was a lot worse than first feared..! So I scraped back the plaster to the point where it stopped and focused on the other half of the room…

Fabulous customers who looked after me so well! Not only that but they presented me with a tin of to work with which is incredible!! 🤩

Here are the finished photos of my first external project of the year!

It was wonderful to work for such brilliant clients for the first time; especially at such a lovely property.

Lots of scraping and taping, sanding, filling, priming, undercoating and topcoating required, but the finished product is great!

This bedroom required a lot of sanding and caulking to get those straight lines. Though I think my son is happy with it which is all that matters 🤣

Radiator Glow-up ✅

Nice little job completed for my parents recently!

The rad was cleaned down, sanded, and then painted with OneCan in an eggshell finish.

OneCan is a primer, stain blocker and finisher all in one, but it also inhibits rust. Perfect for jobs like these.

Downstairs Toilet Completed ✅

Lots of filling to be done with this one as the left hand wall was previously papered, so that got a full skim after being sealed with Gardz.

And on the right hand wall there will be a cabinet that fits exactly in the gap in the skirting board.

The end product though is a classy finish 👌 although the pictures were taken when the paint was still a little wet in places.
