Consistency is key to a perfectly finished home! 🏡 In this project, we focused on a comprehensive matching of the windows and doors, and the result speaks for itself. The classic British brick has gained a completely new, distinct character thanks to the windows and doors in a deep shade of anthracite.

Notice the beautiful symmetry of the ground floor. 👌 Taking centre stage is a modern door with two narrow, vertical glass panels that discreetly brighten the interior while maintaining full privacy for the household. The whole look is complemented by a solid, black handle on a long backplate, which perfectly fits the minimalist door design and nods to modern trends. Flanking it are two small windows, creating a very harmonious frame for the entrance area.

Moving higher up, we see colour-matched doors with a Juliet balcony and an attic window. The dark frames contrast brilliantly with the background, blending minimalist modernity with traditional architecture. The whole design is incredibly elegant and well-thought-out.

Who said white doors have to be boring? 🤍

In our installations, we often show you the swap from old, light-coloured windows and doors to trendy shades of anthracite or wood. 🪵 This time, we did exactly the opposite! We replaced a dark door, tired by time and the sun, with a modern, bright design full of character. ✨ And you know what? The result is great! 🤩

Why is it worth opting for pure white?

First of all, it's a brilliant way to brighten up the entrance area. Porches, like the one in the photo, can be heavily shaded by the canopy. A large, white surface acts like a photographic reflector in such a place - it bounces natural light, freshens up the recess, and makes the entrance seem larger and more inviting. 🏡

Secondly: contrast. Pure white creates a great, very striking combination with the classic red brick so characteristic of British homes. 🧱

However, to avoid a standard, conservative look, we opted for a bold, monochromatic twist. Instead of a plain door panel, we have dynamic, arched glazing in a strong black surround. 🖤 When we add matte black hinges, dark lock hardware, and a modern black pull handle (instead of a traditional handle!), classic white turns into a very modern, bold front. 😎

We've turned a dark and overwhelming entrance into a bright, elegant, and secure showcase for the home.

Introducing our latest installation! ✨ This time, the classic warmth of wood meets modern, black accents, creating an entrance that simply cannot be ignored. Take a look at the photo to see how fantastically this project blends with the building's brick facade. 🧱

The door installed by our team is a model from the solid SAMEDAN series. 🚪 Its unique character is thanks to the original LABEL BLACK finish. The distinctive, black decorative panels placed on the surface of the door create a delicate, incredibly elegant 3D effect. The whole look is perfectly complemented by a long, minimalist pull handle and subtle quadruple glazing with safe, toughened glass.

However, this project isn't just about a great, modern design, but above all, uncompromising quality and a build designed to last! The outer layer of the door is made of steel protected by a special PVC veneer, which features the highest resistance to UV radiation and unpredictable weather conditions. The inside of the door is tightly filled with polyurethane (PUR) foam, which, combined with a warm aluminium threshold and a thermal frame, guarantees sensational thermal insulation. 🌡️

At DOR-JAN, we always prioritise our Customers' peace of mind, which is why security features play just as important a role here as aesthetics. This model meets the requirements of the RC2 security class. June is the official start of the holiday season! ☀️ However, before you pack your bags and head off for a well-deserved rest, it's worth making sure your home is safe and secure. Peace of mind is the foundation of a great holiday, after all! 🌴

What should you remember before you leave?

🔸 Check windows and doors - it sounds cliché, but in the rush of packing, it's easy to forget to close an upstairs window or lock the patio doors. Make sure all locks, handles, and hinges are working flawlessly. The back of the house is the most common target for uninvited guests!

Sometimes a single comparison says more than the longest description! 🤩 Take a look at this makeover. The classic white door with small glass panels has made way for a new design that instantly refreshed and modernised the entrance.

This time, we opted for pure minimalism, which has blended perfectly with the characteristic stone surround of the door. The deep, cool shade of anthracite has created a fantastic contrast with the light facade and given the front of the building a completely new feel. Instead of a standard handle, we used a long pull handle in matte black. As we mentioned recently, this is a detail that instantly adds elegance and prestige to the entrance.

Notice the proportions, too. Instead of several small, rounded windows, we have one slim, vertical glass panel here, which brilliantly floods the hallway with natural light. Together with the delicate, horizontal grooves on the door sash, it creates a cohesive, geometric whole that perfectly matches the solid form of the facade.

This is yet another perfect proof of what a huge impact replacing just one key element can have on the look of a building. The whole entrance now looks modern, solid, and classy.

We often show you our installations from the outside, but today for a change - a glimpse from the hallway perspective! 🏡 See how a well-chosen front door can perfectly complement your interior design.

In this project, modern minimalism and attention to detail play the leading role. What exactly catches the eye here?
🔸 Cohesive colour scheme - the deep, dark grey shade of the door beautifully harmonises with the hallway walls, creating a very elegant space.

Choosing a new front door isn't just about the colour or design, but also the details that affect your everyday convenience. One of them is the opening system.

What is the actual difference between a pull handle and a traditional handle? 👇
A traditional handle is a classic, movable mechanism - pressing it releases the latch in the lock and allows you to open the door freely. A pull handle, on the other hand, is a solid, stationary element permanently mounted to the door sash. It is used solely to pull or push the door. Since it cannot be "pressed", you need a key (or an electronic system) to release the latch from the outside. From the inside, the door is usually opened simply with a standard handle.

What should you know about each of these solutions?

Traditional handle
🔸 Maximum everyday convenience - you can open the door without a problem even with your hands full (just press the handle with your elbow).
🔸 Freedom of movement - as long as you don't lock the door with a key, you can easily get back into the house from the outside. This is a big plus when you often pop out for a moment to get the post, go to the car, or step into the garden.
🔸 Universal design - traditional handles look great and perfectly match absolutely any architectural style, both classic and modern.

Modern pull handle

This is the final post about our major makeover in Ipswich. We’ve already shown you the individual elements up close: the new windows, elegant patio doors, and the solid front door from both the inside and outside. Today, it’s time to look at the bigger picture and sum up this project. 🏡✨

It’s only in these BEFORE and AFTER photos that you can truly see how the individual details come together to create a spectacular whole. Replacing the old white frames with cohesive windows and doors in a warm, wooden shade has completely changed the character of this building and visually taken years off its age. Both the front and back of the house have gained a modern, elegant touch while retaining their cosy feel.

Another comprehensive installation is complete! This time our team worked in Colne near Manchester, where we took care of replacing the windows and doors, as well as fitting the accessories. 🏡

What did our client choose?
🔸 IDEAL 4000 windows - a reliable system equipped with triple glazing, which guarantees very good thermal insulation and helps to reduce heating bills.
🔸 Anthracite on both sides - frames in the same cool colour on both the outside and inside of the house, providing a very cohesive and aesthetic look.
🔸 Rear PVC door - a solid, secure exit to the back of the property, perfectly matched visually to the new windows.
🔸 Pleated blinds (yes, we fit accessories too! 😊) - practical and elegant window coverings, installed directly onto the new frames, allowing for comfortable control of incoming natural light.
