Thought I would have a go at fitting a UPVC window, been 30 + years since I last did one,, was in a garage so didn't need to be perfection,, had to enlarge hole in wall with disc cutter for fitment,, came out good though and learnt more tricks to the trade !

Thought I had bitten off more than I could chew with this job ! Outside steps that were in need of some tlc. Years of numerous repairs had to be removed as the top landing step had kept cracking where steps were joined to house foundations. The settlement and movement would mean the new layer would also crack, so had to devise a way of Isolating steps from foundation of house. I came up with the the idea of inserting old electrical cables on the foundation top and once casting was finished, pull them out from the inside under the house,, this gave me a 3/8 gap between them for any movements between the two.
The steps and risers were also different heights etc so was able to equal this out before finishing with a 30mm top layer casting.

Continued with my shed this Autumn,, finished jack hammering and digging out the old floor area. Then 4 inches of compacted type 1, then the thick membrane sheet with 1'' polystyrene sheeting to help reduce a cold floor,, another membrane was put down followed by 4'' of self mixed concrete. Not really happy with final finish on concrete but everything else worked out as per plan.

Some garden clearance I remembered to take some pics at !
This one was very overgrown and took about 60 hours to clear over a period of time. The roots of all trees, shrubs and weeds were dug up and a pretty good blank canvas is left for future works.
Also was able to try out a new border idea as there is not much choice on the market from my research,, I quite like it.

This extra wide gate was made from scratch,, the end of the wall needed cutting back and refinished to take the extra width gate. Learnt a lot doing this job and spent some quality time with an old friend I have not seen in 30 + years.

Reworked this gate and fitted with new frame,, after inspection I realised I could probably save it, so after power wash...

Reworked this gate and fitted with new frame,, after inspection I realised I could probably save it, so after power washing and cleaning and fitting new screws, it came out good and will go on for a few more years.
