Dartmoor National Park Authority voted to approve our reserved matters application for 29 new homes in Ashburton on Friday.

⚪ NATIONAL MARINE PARK ⚪

Another day, another hugely positive article involving DCPC. More importantly, it's a good news story for Devon and Cornwall!

Plymouth Live have now recognised the significance of Cornwall Council's approval of works to the Garden Battery at Mt Edgcumbe. The sympathetic works to the Grade II listed building, set in the Grade I listed park and garden will be a popular attraction for the local community and visitors alike.

DCPC Director, Louis Dulling is quoted in the article from his presentation to Planning Committee.

⚪ NATIONAL MARINE PARK ⚪

Today, Cornwall Council's Planning Committee voted unanimously to approve the last of a series of successful applications to improve access to and enjoyment of the National Marine Park.

DCPC proudly acted for and on behalf of Plymouth City Council as the applicant for sites in Plymouth and Cornwall, comprising: 2 x scheduled monument consents, 2 x listed building consents, 3 x full planning applications 2 x certificates of lawfulness.

Engagement with a number of key stakeholders including Historic England, Natural England, both authorities and some stellar plans produced by has been met with support.

Now we cannot wait until we see these projects to come to life and the National Marine Park to take shape!

Delighted to announce we've achieved planning permission to convert the former Meadery in the stunning St Agnes, Cornwall.

Having been unsuccessful with applications in the past few years, the Client reached out to DCPC.

Our in-depth understanding of the relevant planning policies allowed us to produce a clear strategy and implement it.

The result is a positive reuse of a landmark building in central St Agnes which provides 2 family sized dwellings and a more manageable commercial unit to the front of the building.

We would also extend our thanks to the Planning Officer for their clear communication throughout and timely decision making.

We cannot wait to visit and see how this project progresses

⚪ Government Fee Rises on the Horizon ⚪

Consultation is taking place on substantial planning application fee rises at a national level.

It will be the first rise in application fees since 2018. Increases are likely to be implemented by Summer 2023.

A huge, 35% increase for major applications and 25% for all other applications

⚪ HOUSEHOLDER APPROVAL ⚪

DCPC have helped a homeowner achieve their dream home with the approval of a front extension in Plymouth.

Although the proposals differed from the other dwellings in the street, DCPC were able to present a strong case for approval and this was supported by the Planning Officer.

We are also delighted to have achieved this decision within 5 weeks and we are thankful to Plymouth City Council Planning Dept for the efficient turnaround time!

⚪ SEQUENTIAL TEST ⚪

DCPC have achieved the latest planning permission in the transformation of a property in Plymouth.

This stunning site is now known as Light Studios and is the latest creative workspace provided in the City by Eat Work Art.

DCPC first secured the principle of changing the use of the building. In doing so we successfully demonstrated that the proposed use was acceptable in respect of the Sequential Test before securing further permissions for external alterations and advertisement consent.

We can't wait to see what a positive change this use has on the local economy and the quality of the Conservation Area.

Always good to deliver some good news to a client on a Friday!

Devon and Cornwall Planning Consultants, working with the excellent Transport and Highway Consultant FIHE Cornwall Council granted permission for a new point of access.

Historic applications were unsuccessful but a new team with a fresh approach achieved the access to a new build dwelling in the North Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
