We were tasked with sealing a number of leaking 75mm rainwater downpipes that were cast directly into the building structure, making them incredibly difficult and expensive to replace traditionally.

Does your house back on to a cobbled service lane in Plymouth? 🛠️⚓

If the answer is YES, you could be sitting on a ticking time bomb—and it’s called a Buchan Trap.

At Flux Sewer Ltd, we recently saved a local homeowner from a £10,000+ excavation nightmare. 😱

Most companies just "rod" a blockage and move on. But in Plymouth’s historic lanes, these Victorian traps are often buried 3 metres deep and hidden under boundary walls. When they block, they block hard.

The Flux Sewer Save:
We attended a property that was surcharging every two weeks. Others had "cleared" it, but the problem kept coming back. Using our specialised vacuum unit and HPWJ, we extracted four large stones (2-3 inches wide!) wedged deep in the U-bend.
