Another great project completed by the Stormforce team for a key client of Thinking Schools Academy Trust

This project involved a range of roofing works, including:

🔹 Liquid overlay system to existing single ply roofing
🔹 Removal and disposal of asbestos-containing slates to several roof sections
🔹 Liquid overlay to an existing felt roof
🔹 New felt Built-Up Roofing (BUR) system over the boiler room

The project was carried out during a period of extremely hot weather, which required careful planning and some adjustment to our working hours to ensure the works could be completed safely and to the required standard.

Working within a school environment and alongside residential properties also meant that these changes had to be carefully managed, minimising disruption to the surrounding community while maintaining progress on site.

Good planning, communication and the ability to adapt are essential on projects like this, and once again the Stormforce team delivered a high-quality finish across a varied and challenging scope of works.

Another successful project recently completed for Plymouth Community Homes.

Working on an 8-storey block of apartments presented a number of challenges, particularly around safe access and the control of both operative and material movements at height.

Through careful planning and a little thinking outside the box, our team developed a robust system of work that provided safe and practical access, while allowing the liquid roofing system to be applied efficiently and to the highest standard.

As always, our operatives are at the heart of what we do. Their experience, skill and commitment to following the agreed safety plan resulted in an excellent finish and a successful project for the client.

Another successful project completed at Paignton Academy

It’s great to see the final finished roofs at Paignton Academy, delivered for The Thinking Schools Academy Trust.

Working alongside Langley UK Ltd we installed three new Mineral Felt Built-Up Roofing (BUR) systems, including one roof incorporating a new tapered insulation scheme and new rooflights.

A great project delivered through close collaboration between all teams involved, providing robust, high-performance roofing solutions designed to give the Academy long-term protection and performance.

Another project completed to the high standards expected by our clients and partners.

Another successful project completed for a key client.

We’re pleased to have recently completed another project working alongside Langley UK Ltd ⁠, delivering a comprehensive roofing package across the site.

The works included:

Installation of new BUR systems to three roofs, including one roof incorporating a tapered insulation design to improve thermal performance and drainage. Re-roofing works to part of the Reprographics Block, with the existing slate carefully removed and reused to cover one elevation.
New natural slate installed to the remaining elevation, providing a durable finish while maintaining the character of the building.

Another project successfully delivered by the Stormforce Roofing team, combining modern waterproofing solutions with traditional roofing skills and a focus on quality workmanship.

A great result and another strong partnership with our key supply chain partners.

Another fantastic project completed here in Plymouth by the Stormforce Roofing team. 🏗️

This project involved extensive restoration and refurbishment works, with slate repairs carried out across the church, alongside new leadwork, timber repairs and insulation.

The main tower roof presented a particularly challenging element of the project. The existing roof was completely stripped back, allowing for new structural steelwork, new walls and, where required, new oak beams to be installed to provide the necessary support for the new deck.

The project was then completed with a new Code 7 lead roof, providing a durable and high-quality finish appropriate for this important building.

A great example of the combination of traditional roofing skills, specialist leadwork and modern construction techniques that our team brings to challenging projects.

Another successful commercial roofing project completed by the Stormforce Roofing team in Perranporth.

This project involved a complete refurbishment of the existing roof, with a over roof supplied by Drake Scaffolding, with the careful removal of the original slate covering and coping stones. During the strip, extensive timber decay was identified within the gutter, requiring the installation of a new timber gutter before it was waterproofed using a high-performance WestWood Liquid Technologies Limited.

To improve the roof’s long-term performance, new counter battens were installed over the existing sarking boards, followed by a new breathable membrane. The roof was then finished with new natural slates, complemented by a modern vented hip and ridge system to enhance ventilation and durability.

The coping stones were re-bedded onto the new Westwood waterproofing system and expertly finished with interlocking lead detailing, providing both a robust weatherproof solution and a high-quality finish.

A great result delivered by the team, ensuring this property is protected for many years to come.

Another successful project delivered by the team, this time in partnership with UCS College Group at Cannington College.

The works involved the installation of a new Moy Materials Waterproofing System, providing a high-quality, durable roofing solution designed for long-term performance.

Despite some challenging site conditions, the team maintained the highest standards throughout, delivering an excellent finish that everyone involved can be proud of.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to another successful project.
