It's all been very quiet in Saint Property Investment for the last few months, as we've been focussing our energy on setting up the lettings agency that we wish was available to us when we started out. We are very proud to announce that Loyalty Lettings Ltd is now a fully compliant and operational lettings agency, specialising in HMO management. A little slow to the party, but we wanted to see how the week would pan out:

How much of your hard-earned cash has been lost in the last month?

We're not ashamed to say that our personal pensions have suffered a significant loss these last few weeks.

Yesterday the global financial markets suffered the worst single-day losses since Black Monday in 1987. 📉

The FTSE dropped more than 10% and wiped some £160.4bn off the market.

This blow is now compounded by the drop in base rate, which means that *maintaining the value* of that nest egg is becoming more and more difficult.

Why do we say maintaining the value? The value doesn't go down!?! 🤔

Unfortunately, the base rate tweak has already seen the banks slash the returns on savings accounts.

Ah yes, but I'm not paying for my savings so I'm still getting returns.

Agreed, but as inflation (CPI) is currently sat around 2%, and savings are around 1%, in 12 months time, the £1 in your bank today will grow to £1.01, but your Protein Mars Bar which costs you £1 today will cost you £1.02 in a year's time! 😱🤢

This is why diversification is so important and why we're specifically looking at property to provide a stable platform for growth, both for ourselves and our investors: To protect the money that we all work hard to earn.
