2 Put Money Into The Building Fabric 💰
We often spend a lot of time worrying about the aesthetics of our property – such as kitchen or bathroom styles – and sometimes even invest heavily in them because they’re the most visible. However, our advice would be to invest more in the bones of the building, such as the structure, insulation, roofing and glazing. Unlike fitting a new kitchen or bathroom, the bones of the building can be very tricky to replace or repair and you’re unlikely to replace them every 6-10 years.

Whether you’re in need of a project manager, an architect or a supplier, working with businesses and people that understand your needs and are prepared to give you all the support you need to execute your plan is crucial. Lastly, it’s important to enjoy yourself. It’s all too easy to put immense pressure on yourself or others when completing renovations – not many people like living on a building site. However, it’s important to remember that the work you do on your home is a means to create a better place to live, so take the time to make intelligent decisions and enjoy the process.
