What does a conveyancer do when they’re not buried under contracts, chasing replies and wondering why nobody can ever find their own ID? 😂... THIS.

Honestly… I like to disappear. 😂

I’m happiest out in nature, preferably somewhere with as few people as humanly possible. Give me a quiet walk, some fresh air, trees, open space and my dog and I’m in my element. 🐾🌿

Walking the dog is probably my favourite way to switch off — just me, the dog and absolutely nobody asking me when their completion is going to happen. Bliss. 😂

And then, of course, there are the evenings where I embrace the complete opposite of productivity…

Blanket? ✔️
Comfy sofa? ✔️
Dog snuggled up? ✔️
A ridiculously trashy reality TV show that I would never admit to watching? Absolutely. 😂📺

So, if you ever see me out and about looking peaceful, I’m probably enjoying the silence before I have to return to emails, enquiries and the wonderful world of conveyancing! 😅

Whether it was at home, in my office, a coffee shop, on my lap as a passenger, from our hotel in Cornwall / our lodge in Devon or at the skate park.. the important bit for me…

My clients knew no different.

Whether I’m sitting at my desk in my office or replying to an email from a coffee shop with a slightly questionable Wi-Fi connection, the service remains the same.

I’m still checking in, progressing matters, answering questions, chasing where necessary and keeping my clients updated.

One of the things I love about running my own small practice is having that flexibility and being able to work around family life while still being completely committed to my clients and their transactions.

So, if you’ve wondered what a conveyancer gets up to during the summer holidays… now you know! 😂

Work-life balance might look a little unconventional sometimes, but it works for me and my family, and equally importantly, my clients get the same personal service wherever me and my laptop may be 💻⚖️

Pilates in the September sunshine ☀️🧘‍♀️✨

To say this was NEEDED is an understatement! Why did the first week back post summer holidays feel so hard- the routine and rain on top 😅

A beautiful morning spent moving, stretching, breathing and connecting in the great outdoors. 🌿

Good energy, gorgeous surroundings, a little sunshine and lots of feel-good movement. 💛

There’s something extra special about taking Pilates outside — fresh air, open space and a chance to slow down (something I struggle with!)

Ooh and a bit late to the party but I tried my first proper matcha 🟢- its an education but I liked it 🍃

A few things that have made me happy this week… 🤍

As a conveyancer, it’s easy to get caught up in the contracts, deadlines, enquiries and emails. But sometimes it’s the little things that remind me why I love what I do.

☕ An iced coffee to start the day.
A small ritual, but one that sets me up for a productive morning.

✨ Having a workspace that works for me.
I love spending time in my office space — a place I’ve created on my own terms, that feels professional, welcoming and completely me. Hanging out with amy
For a weekly catch up a bonus!

🤝 Meeting clients face-to-face.
There’s something so valuable about sitting down together in a proper meeting space, having those conversations in person and being able to give clients the time and reassurance they deserve.

💬 And then receiving a message afterwards our meeting saying:
“we know we are in very safe hands.”

That one really stayed with me. These same clients came to me via a recommendation from their son who I previously acted for- keeping it in the family always 🫶

Because behind every transaction is a person, a family, a move, a new chapter — and often a fair amount of stress along the way.

Those messages are a lovely reminder that the personal side of what I do matters just as much as the professional side. 🏡🤍

An afternoon at the summer party for one of the legal firms I have had the pleasure of consulting for—and even better that I was able to bring along two very special guests: my two children who had a blast!

It was great for them to see the people and community behind the work, and for me it was a reminder to celebrate my own successes in being self employed for 5 years.

One of my no 1 perks of consultancy/ being self employed- this guy 🐾

It means I can start the day with a walk with the dog, take him into the office with me, and still be there for the appointments and commitments that matter most.

I also love having the freedom to invest time in building my own brand and business. From working with clients to planning new content and photoshoots (new brand photos coming soon 👀), every step feels like it's moving something forward that I've created myself.

Of course, self-employment comes with its challenges, but having the ability to design my day is 👌👌
