Upper Westcott, Port Isaac, North Cornwall

Upper Westcott is a real home from home and a great base for a family holiday. It is situated in Port Isaac which is a beautiful fishing village in North Cornwall, located between Camelford and Wadebridge, which are the nearest towns. In recent years it has become the home of grumpy Doc Martin! Port Isaac old village and nearby Port Gaverne are a ten to fifteen minute walk from the apartment which is located at the top of the village - a short distance from a doctors surgery, a well-stocked Co-op, a bus stop, a children's play area and a dog-walking field. The village itself has some small shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. A short drive away are some wonderful beaches including Polzeath for the surfers, and Rock/Daymer Bay which are dog-friendly year round. In the other direction is beautiful Trebarwith Strand, also great for surfing. There are some lovely restaurants locally and a bit further afield. The North Cornwall area seems to attract restaurants owned by celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth at Padstow, Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac and Rock, Masterchef winner James Nathan at Retallack and Jamie Oliver at Watergate Bay. There are many family attractions within easy driving distance from Port Isaac. There is a well-stocked information file at the apartment with advertising leaflets for all manner of activites and days out. Upper Westcott has space on a private road for two vehicles. There is a private, enclosed garden with garden furniture available for use. There are three good-sized bedrooms. Two have double beds, and the third has two single beds. There is a lounge with television and dvd player, Wifi and there are books and games for adults and children. The kitchen is well equipped for family cooking and has a large table for dining. There is a utility room with washing machine and tumble drier, a bathroom with bath and shower, and the apartment has two toilets. The large landing area has an additional settee for those needing a quieter spot. There is a desk in one of the bedrooms stocked with drawing paper and pens in case there is any work to be done or if children need a space for drawing or creating! There is a hose and outside tap for washing down wetsuits and some body boards, and a few small wetsuits available for use if needed. Please ring to discuss availability and prices. Changeover day is Friday. Bookings are taken for whole weeks. The apartment will be ready from 3pm on the day of arrival, and we ask that it is vacated by 10am on leaving day. In quieter months we can be more flexible with bookings. In order to secure your reservation we require half of the total payment at the time of booking, and ask for the remainder to be paid six weeks before the date of arrival.
