She carried sand up from the beach on her back and mixed concrete by hand for fifty years. 🪨🎭

Rowena Cade began the Minack Theatre in 1931 in the garden of her clifftop house, so a local group could stage The Tempest. She and her gardener built the first seating themselves. ⏳🏗️

She kept working on it through her eighties, adding terraces, steps and the carved lettering on the seats, which she did with the tip of a screwdriver. ✍️✨
