23/01/2024 New signage at Woodhill Court

SNG have given the following update for the new signs:

SNG should be receiving the new signs from the Oxford-based sign printers at their Bristol office shortly. Once they arrive, a work order will be raised for them to be put up.

The specification called for a new sign at the Woodhill Road entrance, on the left hand side of the entrance from the road, a new sign on the Cabstand entrance and a new sign with directions to the blocks, on the wall facing the Cabstand entrance.

Dyson Energy Services returned to insulate more of the remaining blocks before the end of the financial year.

11/01/2024 Continuing programme of insulation works to flats

Dyson Energy Services are continuing the programme to insulate the remaining blocks before the end of the financial year, starting with blocks 20-28.

They are alerting residents on the day at around 08:30 to let them know that there will be noise and dust, but they are happy to tape doors and windows if this is a problem.

21/09/2023 EPC works starting

Dyson Energy Services will be on site for some time over the next few weeks, The works will involve using core drills to perforate the cavity walls and then using an industrial vacuum extractor/blower to remove the existing insulation and replace it afterwards with a higher-rated category, both to retain heat and also to reduce heat loss throughout the flats.

This will of necessity mean some noise and disturbance over the next couple of weeks, but with energy bills ever rising, should help residents in the long run.

29/03/2023 Energy Performance Certificate works

MPH received a letter from Sovereign in June last year about an energy performance certificate (EPC) inspection visit, which was carried out by Dyson Energy Services. The works and certification are now going to be performed on all blocks (https://www.dysonenergyservices.co.uk/).

The works will involve removing isolated bricks from cavity walls and then using an industrial vacuum extractor/blower to remove the existing insulation and replace it afterwards with a higher-rated category both to retain heat and also to reduce heat loss throughout the flats.

18/01/2024 Enerveo Ltd visit to fix pathway lighting

A crew with a cherrypicker removed and replaced defective light shields, which are designed to diffuse light and prevent light pollution.

They put in a report to SNG that the pathway light on the Cabstand side outside block 20-28, which is inaccessible to a cherrypicker, should be replaced with a new unit, due to it's age and difficulty of access..

07/01/2024 Pathway light fails outside block 20-28

A blown bulb and obscured shade have been reported again to the contact centre, after nearly 2 years of inaction.

Hopefully, SNG will move to LED lights for the pathways, as they have with the entry and exit block lighting.

07/08/2022 Pathway lights are in poor condition

A resident raised concerns about the condition of the outdoor lighting by their block, so a visual check of the outside lighting has been carried out on all outdoor lighting.

The main car park is well illuminated at night by the lampposts but the pathways around the blocks are not, especially on the more sloping areas of the pathways.

The illumination provided by the lamp-stands is fairly low since the shells are cloudy, dirty or condensed.

The short light bollards are very bright and it would make sense to have some more installed at strategic locations.

13/01/2024 Fly tipping in car park

A box full of broken toys, a discardeed steam cleaner and other rubbish has been left in the car park by the owner of a black diesel VW car, allegedly belonging to the daughter of a resident of block-20-28.

Contact centre have been informed and will send out a waste contractor, Wascle, to collect it.

It is important to note that all residents received a letter about fly tipping, letting them know that any additional services, such as waste disposal of fly tipped items, would be added proportionally to residents service charges.

To show how long it is since the blocks were last insulated, an empty packet of Players No.10 ci******es was sucked out with the old insulation!

11/02/2024 Break in mains drain on Woodhill Road side

Water Matters, a SNG contractor was on site today to investigate the standing pool of water outside block 10-11.

They found that there was a break in the mains drain by the manhole and this has been repaired.

05/02/2024 'Mystery' investigated but not yet solved

The 'mystery' of the swimming pool outside block 10-11 has received some attention from Bristol Water at last.

A marker and blue spray paint outlines show an area where there is a problem with the drain outside the block.

This could be a fracture, causing a slow leak or a burst in the main further upstream.

Cleaning the flat roofs before Christmas has also reduced the volume of water hitting this area, and all the other blocks too.
